Beyond this new innings, Virender Sehwag also spoke about his family and fatherhood during the conversation with Hindustan Times. During the conversation, when Sehwag was asked if he would like his own life to be turned into a biopic, Sehwag was quick to say, "Yes, why not!" He in fact went a step further and shared that he would like his love story to be a part of the film.
Virender Sehwag got candid about his love story with his wife, Aarti Ahlawat and shared that he would love to see their love blossom on the screen. While he is not particular about who should play him, Sehwag says he would leave that decision to the filmmakers. He was quoted as saying:
"My love story is definitely something that should be included. I would let the producer and director decide that. Nowadays, everyone is good. I won't pick a particular name."
The comment comes amid reports about Virender Sehwag's separation from his wife Aarti Ahlawat. The couple, who got married in 2004, have been the subject of separation speculation since January 2025, with reports claiming they have been living apart for several months. Neither Sehwag nor Aarti has publicly confirmed a separation. However, when asked about dealing with the chatter around his personal life, he said he chooses to simply ignore it.

He also spoke about his and Aarti's children. For those who don't know, like the children of many sporting legends, his sons Aryavir and Vedant, who are 18 and 16 respectively, are also pursuing cricket while growing up with the weight of a famous surname.
However, Virender Sehwag revealed that being compared to him has its benefits too. While he admitted that there is a certain pressure with the surname, he doesnt want Aryavir or Vedant to replicate his career. He shared that he doesn't think children need to mirror what their parents did because they might do that or more, or not even reach the Indian team, but what matters to him is that they love the sport. He was quoted as saying:
"Being compared to their father has benefits too (laughs). There is a benefit of having Sehwag's surname, but there is a pressure too. You are indeed compared to your father. Don't think that Sachin Tendulkar's son will do the same. He has a different life. He plays different cricket. They might do what I did. They might achieve more than me. They might not even reach the Indian team. But at least, they have to play the game. They love the game. So, they should focus on that."
Rise & Fall 2 premieres on September 26, 2026. However, what has surprised fans is the fact that Virender Sehwag will be hosting the show. Now, in a conversation with HT, the former cricketer has revealed that the decision came as a surprise to him as well. In a candid conversation, Sehwag revealed that it was only after meeting the makers and understanding the show that he made the decision. He shared that the makers wanted him to be himself and bring his own personality to the show, which allowed him to give it a shot. He was quoted as saying:
"I refused to even do an interaction for the show. I believed it would be very difficult for me to host a show that is not about cricket. They said, 'Dad, what are you doing? How can you host a show? There are big fights here. How will you do it?'"
