However, the last time, he took a break from his work, speculations started arising about his mother's deteriorating health.
After reports started suggesting that Virat Kohli's mother, Saroj Kohli's health had deteriorated, the entire Kohli family had become extremely worried. However, finally, Virat's brother, Vikas Kohli reacted to it, claiming the reports as fake. The doting son mentioned that his mother is absolutely fit and fine, and wrote:
"Hello everyone! I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom's health been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also, I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information. Thanks everyone for your concern."

The reports about Saroj Kohli's health surfaced in the media when Virat Kohli was pulled out of the first India vs England Test match due to some reasons best known to him. It was three days before the start of the series. Revealing the same, the Board of Control for Cricket in India also released a statement regarding the same, which could be read as:
"Mr. Virat Kohli has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be withdrawn from the first two Tests of the upcoming IDFC First Bank Test series against England, citing personal reasons."
Virat Kohli once also made headlines with his drastic transformation from a chubby young kid to a fit cheeky guy in the last 12-14 years. This was only possible with his immense hard work, specialised diets and a tough fitness regime. However, a while back, we stumbled upon an old interview of Virat, wherein he revealed his mother thinks he has been unwell for the last few years. A fan page of Virat shared the clip, wherein he could be heard revealing a relatable thing about his mother, Saroj Kohli. He mentioned that while on one side, people keep praising him for his fitness and asking for tips, his mother remains extremely worried about his health. Talking about the same, he shared:
"Unki taraf se toh mtlb aaj bhi wo phone karengi, log fitness ki baatein kar rahae hote hai wo shaam ko phone aa jayega match ke baad 'itne kamzor lag rahe ho, kuch khate hi nhi ho'."

Further, Virat mentioned, "Toh maine kaha yaar ek taraf mereko log puch rahe hai aap kya kar rahe ho, training, ek taraf meri mummy bol rhi hai tum parathe nhi khate." To this, the interviewer also pointed at Virat's current cheeky jawline, which has become more prominent due to his fitness regime. But before Jatin could finish his sentence, Virat added that due to this reason, his mommy, Saroj, believes that her son has been unwell for the last few years and has been hiding it from her. Virat mentioned:
"Unko lagta hai ki matlb main bimar hu, unko lag raha hai main 8-9 saal se bimar hu, mujhe kuch dikkat hai main bata nhi raha hu. To woh toh aaj bhi consistent hai."
