The star couple has been ensuring the privacy of their daughter for the last 10 months and they have succeeded in not revealing her face. While the nation dotes on their little one, a Twitter user went horribly wrong when for Virat’s statement over religious discrimination, he/she decided to openly send rape threats for his 10 months old daughter.
For the unversed, on February 1, 2021, Anushka Sharma had posted the first-ever family picture with their then-newborn daughter, introducing her to the world. Announced her daughter’s name, Anushka had written:
“We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one, Vamika has taken it to a whole new level! Tears, laughter, worry, bliss - emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes! Sleep is elusive but our hearts are SO full. Thanking you all for your wishes, prayers and good energy.”

Talking about the rape threat, it happened that after India lost to Pakistan on a T20 world cup match held on October 24, 2021, netizens had attacked Indian cricket player, Mohammed Shami, disrespecting him and hurling abuses at him for his religion. Virat Kohli, Indian Cricket Team captain, came out in his support at a press conference and mentioned how religious discrimination is utterly wrong. He said:
“There’s a good reason why we are playing on the field and not some bunch of spineless people on social media that have no courage to actually speak to any individual in person. They hide behind their identities and go after people through social media, making fun of people and that has become a social entertainment in today’s world, which is so unfortunate and so sad to see.”
Well, soon after Virat Kohli’s statement went viral over the internet, a fan page on Twitter, which is not deleted, passed the most horrible remarks, directing hatred towards his daughter. The fan page penned an open rape threat for Virat Kohli’s 10 months old daughter, Vamika Kohli Sharma, leaving the netizens fuming with anger. Sharing a link of the heinous tweet, one user tweeted:
“The rape threat to #ViratKohli’s 10 month-old daughter, issued after he slammed critics for abusive comments against fellow team mate #MohammedShami, was not peddled by a Pakistani user but by a Telugu-speaking Indian right-wing user @ramanheist.”
