Vikrant Massey Breaks Silence On Raghav Juyal Replacing Him In Film, 'Ramayana', Deletes Post Later

Nitesh Tiwari's film, Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor has been dominating the headlines for a while now. Recently, multiple reports claimed that choreographer-turned-actor, Raghav Juyal has replaced 12th Fail actor, Vikrant Massey in the upcoming film, Ramayana. However, it looks like the reports didn't sit well with Vikrant, who later slammed the media for the same. 

Vikrant Massey shares a post slamming media, but deletes it later

On February 7, 2026, multiple outlets reported that Raghav Juyal had replaced Vikrant Massey in the film, Ramayana. Reportedly, the Kill actor would be playing the role of 'Meghanad', also known as 'Indrajit'. He was the eldest son of 'Ravana' and the crowned prince of Lanka. However, as soon as the reports reached Vikrant Massey, he took to his Instagram handle to share a post, where he clarified the rumours. But later, he deleted the post. According to a report by News18, his IG story said:

"Ok. To put things to rest, I was never a part of this movie. Am not, never was. Such irresponsible media coverage from ‘respectable’ media houses is kinda appalling. Nonetheless, wishing everyone on Ramayana all the very best. Will surely buy a ticket and watch it in cinemas."

When will Raghav Juyal start shooting for Ramayana?

If reports are to be believed, Raghav Juyal will be starting the shoot of Nitesh Tiwari’s film very soon. It is worth mentioning that a few days ago, Raghav Juyal injured his leg while shooting an action sequence for Shah Rukh Khan’s film, King and is currently recovering. Soon after the recovery, he will begin the shoot of Ramayana. 

For those who do not know, Raghav Juyal will reportedly play the role of 'Meghanad'. To give a background, 'Meghanad' is considered to be one of the greatest warriors in Ramayana. He played an important role in the war between 'Lord Rama' and 'Ravana'. One of his extraordinary powers is that he can fight from the sky while remaining hidden behind clouds. It is worth mentioning that he was named 'Indrajit' after he defeated 'Indra Dev'.

What to expect from Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana?

Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film, Ramayana is one of the most-anticipated films of 2026. It is a two-part mythological film, with the first part releasing on Diwali 2026 and second part in 2027. It is worth mentioning that the film is an adaptation of the Indian epic, Ramayana by sage 'Valmiki'.

Reportedly, the first part of the film will focus on 'Rama's' life from Ayodhya to his time in exile. As of now, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as 'Lord Rama', Sai Pallavi as 'Goddess Sita', Yash as 'Ravana', Sunny Deol as 'Hanuman', Ravi Dubey as 'Lakshmana' and more. Reportedly, the film will be released in multiple languages including English, Japanese and Mandarin.
