Shah Rukh Khan, the 'Baadshah' of Bollywood, needs no introduction. The actor has been providing us with some blockbuster movies throughout his three-decade-long career. The year 2023 had been special for Shah Rukh as well as for his fans, as his two movies, Pathaan and Jawan, left everyone stunned, courtesy SRK's acting chops. Now, Shah Rukh is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Dunki, which will hit the silver screen on December 21, 2023. The movie also features Vicky Kaushal and Tapsee Pannu, among others. Now and then, we have heard stories that speak about Shah Rukh's determination to work and his humbleness. And yet the same happened as Vicky recently shared an anecdote from the shooting days of Dunki, and it's unmissable.
Recently, Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani graced the 'Koffee' couch. Vicky Kaushal heaped praises on Shah Rukh Khan and shared an incident when the latter couldn't shoot with him. Vicky stated that during one of the important shoots with Shah Rukh Khan for Dunki, the latter could not be there as he had to rush to Delhi for some important work. However, for the same Vicky had to act with SRK's body double for that scene. Vicky said:
"I’ll share an incident, one of the shoot dates, he had to rush to Delhi for some very important work and it couldn’t have happened at another time or another day and it was a very critical kind of a moment in the film for my character which was with him and he just couldn’t be there for that shot and I had to give that shot with a body double and he had to rush”.
Further, in the conversation, Vicky Kaushal mentioned what happened next when SRK couldn't be there to give him cues in one of the important scenes for Dunki. Vicky mentioned that SRK called him that day late at night, but the former couldn't pick up the call as he was at an event. However, SRK dropped a long message, wherein he apologised to Vicky for not being able to shoot with him. The Uri actor further mentioned that Shah Rukh continued to say to him that they would shoot the scene again while it had already been approved. Elaborating on the same, Vicky mentioned:
"After he got done with his work which was like insanely important in Delhi, late in the night, he had called which I missed because there was an event and then he messaged me. A long message saying, ‘Vicky, wo shot hum dobaara karenge. I am really sorry I missed that, I couldn’t be there to give just the cues, I couldn’t be there, We’ll do that shot again’. I had to call him and convince him ki nahi Raju sir is happy and it went okay and there is no need and pata nahi mujhse waapis hoga ki bhi nahi but I was nervous, But he was like, no, we will do it again, I am feeling terrible that I couldn’t be there”.
Going further in the conversation, Vicky Kaushal stated that Shah Rukh was happy with the shots of him with the latter's body double. Heaping praise on SRK, Vicky mentioned that after meeting the former, he realised how much less he is doing at this age, while the former gives his heart 100 per cent in anything he is doing. Vicky can be heard saying:
"He was happy with those shots and only then he was okay with that. That’s him. I met him and I realised how little I am doing at this age. He just gives a 100 per cent like if he is talking to you, then 100 per cent of his being is talking to you and not a degree away from you. He is just something else.”
Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vicky Kaushal opened up about his experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan.
