Three miscarriages, 3 IVFs, 3 IUIs and 3 surrogacy failures had not affected the determination of Vandana Sajnani Khattar to welcome a baby in her life. Vandana and her hubby, Rajesh Khattar were having twins, however, after a tragic loss, the two welcomed a baby boy on June 18, 2019. The couple has named him Yuvaan Vanraj Khattar and after being in NICU for almost three months, the baby boy had come back home on Janmashtami.
To announce her son’s birth, Vandana Sajnani Khattar had written on her IG handle, “Never gave up for 11 years! Tried every science under the Sun ... and finally, the universe heard me ... #Faith can move mountains! For all women n couples, You can read my story online ... #Google #Timesofindia ... Pls #Keepthefaith.. After all the struggles and hardships that #God tests you with, remember he loves you. Welcome baby #VanrajKhattar ... Our little #Krishna Thank you for all your wishes and prayers. #Miracle #Yuvaankhattar @yuvaankhattar.”
In an exclusive conversation with Bollywoodshaadis.com, Vandana Sajnani Khattar shared the horrific incident of her C-section delivery going wrong and how she managed to breastfeed her son in NICU even after that. She shared, “This happened on a Caesarean section situation because I was actually carrying twins and my uterus lining was weak so they had to kinda stitch me and six months I was pretty much in hospital with my legs up.”
Vandana then recalled how situations suddenly changed for her, “Phir suddenly aise kuch halat hue that I lost my one baby inside on my five-and-a-half or six months and immediately we had to go for a C-section. Aur jo meri actual gynae hai, woh uss time travel kar rahi thi because she didn’t expect ki main itni jaldi delivery karungi, premature hoga toh I had to immediately get to rush to another hospital, Surya hospital, which is a very good hospital. They have the best NICU and my son was in NICU for three-four months.”
Vandana added that the doctor, who handled her at that time, messed up. She said, “The doctor, who handled me at that time, main unko janti thi lekin main surprised hoon khud ki aise kaise kiya unhone. She did a really wrong job. I still have a very stone-like scar permanently there. When we got both our babies out, unfortunately, one was no more. But when Yuvaan Vanraj came out, they just rushed him, and she did something which probably was not right medically, technically.”
Recalling how her stitches opened up soon after she had put her feet down from the bed, she added, “After two days when I was asked to put my feet down from the bed, I put my feet down and I remember that a lot of liquid came gushing out aur mere stitches khul gaye and I couldn’t walk. It was all right there and we had to kind of again put me in the hospital and again do the whole process."
Vandana then shared that she had to do the dressing of the wounds on a daily basis so that she could go to the NICU, where her son was, to breastfeed him. Calling it a traumatic experience, she said, “Uske baad kuch 4 mahine tak toh mujhe har din dressing karna padhta tha aur har din main apne baby ko apna breast milk dene NICU jati thi. So it was a daily affair. It was a completely traumatic experience post-delivery with regards to C-section.”
Vandana Sajnani Khattar also talked about managing her son, Yuvaan when her husband, Rajesh Khattar had tested positive for the COVID-19 and the parenting tips that Rajesh’s first wife, Neliima Azeem shares with her.
