The bizarre spy-comedy's trailer was released on September 23, 2026. While fans are still unsure about the film, the concept has definitely stirred the pot. Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment's Udta Teer trailer offered audiences a first glimpse into its riotous world of comedy, action, and adventure. What to expect from Ayushmann Khurrana's Udta Teer?
Over the decades, the audience has been witness to several patriotic films from Border, Holiday and Sawdes to Uri, Shershaah and Raazi; the entertainment industry has never disappointed in providing the taste of deshbhakti. However, now, Ayushmann Khurrana has changed the script with Udta Teer; instead of a high-intensity patriotic saga, he is bringing a comical spy film that seems to be based on social media's "POV: Pakistani Spy in India" skits.
The movie blends a fresh storyline, a lively comedic vibe, and an engaging ensemble cast, laying the groundwork for a vibrant cinematic experience. The trailer unfolds as a fast-paced journey packed with witty comic beats, surprising scenarios, and energetic performances. However, instead of the Ministry of India, it begins in Pakistan, with their officials sending a spy named 'Bilal Ahmad,' played by Ayushmann, to India.
But in a chaotic twist, 'Bilal' turns out to be a 'Hindustani deshbhakt.' The trailer then revealed that 'Bilal' had memory loss, as Sara Ali Khan told him, "Tumhare parents shaheed ho gaye the, Pakistani terrorist ne maar diya tha unhe. Isiliye tumne counter-terrorism squad join kiya." From action to comedy, the trailer is packed with some ironic moments, including 'Bilal's' announcement:
"I've finally realised ki mere life ka mission kya hai, apne desh, Bharat Maa ki rakhsa karna."
With massive confusion around who 'Bilal Ahmad' is, and 'Bilal' himself having no idea who the person is, he asks his colleagues who 'Bilal' is, which leads one of them to say, "Ullu ke patthe tu hai Bilal Ahmad. Tujhe kab yaad aayega ye. Ye koi Gadar chal rahi hai? Border chal rahi hai? Sunny Deol bana baitha hai. Abey tu Tara Singh nahi hai, tu Ashraf Ali hai. Ashraf Ali." The trailer also offers other hilarious moments, including 'Bilal' taking his Pakistani partner to temples and showing immense hatred for the neighbouring nation.
Ram Kapoor as a Pakistani chief looks fitting. However, another character who catches everyone's attention is 'Chawan', a Pakistani who is apparently from a very "jihadi" family. To which 'Bilal' replies with 'oh nepotism', further showing how the film has taken real-life references to make it comical.
