Tyra Banks Sues Netflix Over Docuseries Claims, Jeana Turner Reacts, She Says, 'It's Just Ironic'

Tyra Banks has been trending ever since she sued Netflix on June 13, 2026. Notably, the model’s allegations are linked to the show, Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model. For the unversed, Tyra is the creator and host of the popular reality series, and she claimed in the legal documents that the producers of the new docuseries edited a lot of her interview footage to prepare a false narrative.

Tyra’s lawsuit has already led to reactions from different personalities. The latest is Jeana Turner, who has also been a part of the show in the past. Keep reading to know more!

According to the lawsuit by Tyra Banks, she accused Netflix of editing her interviews in the latest documentary. On the other hand, Jeana Turner was not ready to accept the fact that Tyra sued the platform, as she said in a statement on June 15, 2026, that it was something related to money.

Jeana mentioned that it was “ironic” of Tyra to file a lawsuit since there are many contestants who have made defamation claims about America’s Next Top Model in the past. Turner alleged that the lives of a majority of those contestants were impacted in some manner, specifically in terms of their careers. Jeana continued by saying:

“It’s just ironic to me that she can complain about being edited falsely. It just seems like a slap in the face. Like, ‘You guys can’t do it, but watch me.’ It’s very grimy to me.”

Apart from criticising Tyra Banks, Jeana Turner said in her statement that a lot of things changed for her after participating in America’s Next Top Model. Jeana said that she is now willing to help anyone who is dealing with similar problems. Turner is also seemingly planning to join other reality TV personalities in the future to help any newcomer explore the entire thing. Jeana said that most of the new models are 18 years old, and she is now willing to prioritise legal protections for those girls.

Jeana said that because she and many others have experienced a lot, they have realised after looking at the new girls that they were once in the same place, desperately looking for a chance. She continued addressing Tyra’s lawsuit against Netflix, as she said:

“For years, former contestants have shared their experiences and concerns, and many of them felt dismissed. So, seeing Tyra now claim that she was misrepresented by editing feels really ironic, giving how long others have been saying similar things about their own experiences with her or her production. I think people are capable of being both influential and harmed by a system, but accountability shouldn’t disappear when the spotlight turns on the person who was previously in charge.”

Jeana Turner said that there was a time when contestants could not open up about the reality since there were legal restrictions. She continued by saying that since a powerful figure linked to the reality series has now questioned their “fairness and accountability,” it has raised more doubts. Jeana also claimed that the ongoing situation would be considered more of an unequal power structure instead of a dispute related to a documentary.
