The Bachelorette alum and his long-time girlfriend announced the news during Dancing with the Stars’ 'Dedication Night'. The news was a major surprise, leaving everyone emotional.
Tyler Cameron and Tate Madden announced their pregnancy and gender reveal on air
During the recent 'Dedication Night' at Dancing with the Stars, Tyler Cameron left the entire ballroom in tears after his performance. He and his pro partner Sharna Burgess performed a Contemporary dance to Ed Sheeran’s Supermarket Flowers. The routine featured a voiceover by Tyler, which he dedicated to his mother, who died in 2020 after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Soon, Tyler’s fiancée, Tate, joined him on the dance floor and announced they were expecting. In the voiceover, Tyler can be heard saying:
“She’s going to be the most incredible mom, just like you. And we’re going to have a baby. I can’t believe it. I’m going to be a dad.”
The performance ended with Tyler kissing Tate’s belly as confetti fell from the ceiling around them. The performance left everyone in tears as it was one of the most special moments. Not only that, the co-host, Alfonso Ribeiro, revealed another surprise the couple planned for their fans. Ribeiro said the couple is letting the world know the gender of their baby.
For the unversed, even Tyler and Tate didn’t know the baby's gender. Ribeiro then counted down from three as pink confetti shot out of multiple cannons, revealing the couple is having a baby girl. As soon as the gender was revealed, Tyler and Tate cried with joy. Tyler, who got emotional, said:
“This is incredible. I get to be a girl dad. What a gift. What an amazing opportunity, and I get to be her husband soon and the father of our beautiful baby.”
Tyler Cameron and Tate Madden’s love story
Tyler Cameron and Tate Madden met in 2022 while working on his Prime Video home renovation series Going Home with Tyler Cameron, where Tate worked as a photographer for various aspects of the show. In 2024, Tyler revealed he has a girlfriend but didn’t name her. However, when Tate posted pictures with Tyler, rumors were rife that the two were dating. In October 2024, they made their relationship official.
Tyler Cameron and Tate Madden made their first official public appearance together on March 19, 2025, at the Miami Open at Hard Rock Stadium. The couple got engaged on August 15, 2026, when Tyler popped the question to Tate on Florida’s Little Palm Island beach.
During a podcast, Tyler revealed that he wanted to keep his relationship with Tate Madden as private as possible. The handsome star shared that he was worried people would nitpick his relationship. Revealing how he wanted to make sure that he and Tate were in a great place before they started, Tyler said:
“I’ve been in this scene before for a long time. People like to nitpick and like to judge and all that. And I’ve dealt with it, but not everyone else has, and that can be a lot. And so I just wanted to make sure we were in a great place before we started that.”
