Trina Braxton once opened up about finding love again after the death of her first husband, Gabe Solis
After a tumultuous on-camera relationship, Trina Braxton found her happy place with Von Scales. However, their journey to each other was anything but easy. During the conversation, Trina revealed that she had reached a point in her life where she found peace and happiness.
However, she acknowledged that she only found Von Scales after going through some much darker times. She revealed that it was extremely difficult and untimely. Trina Baxtor acknowledged how Gabe Solis was only 43 years old when he passed away. She added:
"A lot of people don't know this -- not that it's their business anyway -- but we were actually the best of friends and talked just about every day. We just made better friends than spouses. But it was a really difficult time, especially being in another relationship. Sometimes when you are close with your ex, [your current partner] doesn't understand how you can still have a friendship...especially when they've seen the tough times via television."

She further revealed how Von Scales became her source of strength. Trina admitted that it was difficult for him to watch his partner cry over her ex-husband, but it was more because Gabe Solis was her friend rather than her having some reminiscent feelings. She even acknowledged that she was grieving the loss her children were facing and said:
"Von had his moments of support. For him, it was difficult to watch his significant other grieve over their ex, but it was more than that because he was my friend and raised my children when their biological dad didn't. At the end of the day, he couldn't help but respect [Gabe] for that."
