Travis Kelce Opens Up About How His Wife Taylor Swift Left Him Shocked, 'What'd You Say, Sweetie?'

The Hollywood star made it clear that he had nothing but love for the football star and his wife, Taylor Swift. During their conversation, Travis also opened up about how Taylor often leaves him really impressed.
Travis Kelce recalled how Taylor Swift shocked him
On the September 18, 2026, episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis Kelce gushed about how his wife, Taylor Swift's football knowledge has evolved throughout his relationship. This was also highlighted by podcast guest Tom Cruise, who recently joined the pop star in a private box at Arrowhead Stadium to watch Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs play. He stated that Taylor shared her early views of football with him and detailed her first date with Travis. Tom said:
“She was telling me about you all’s first date where you were talking about football. But also what she said, ‘What was it like, you two, like, playing against, like hitting each other?’”
Laughing at Tom’s comments, Travis recalled that in reality, he and Taylor were basically out there boxing each other on the field. He added, “Like, sweetie, what the heck?”
It is worth mentioning that since their first date, which took place in 2023, Taylor’s awareness of the sport has changed drastically. Travis claimed that at present, the Love Story singer knows basically everything about football. In fact, he said that her knowledge left him totally shocked. He recalled:
“Now she knows everything. She sees the flags coming in. Like, ‘Oh, that might be a defensive hold.’ Like, ‘What’d you say, sweetie?’ She’s like, ‘That’s encroachment.’ I’m like, ‘You know what that is?’ She’s on it now. She got fully engulfed in it.”
Travis' brother, Jason Kelce, also quipped by saying that it was enjoyable meeting Taylor at the Bills game and seeing how much she was into football. She would constantly ask questions to understand how everything worked. Tom Cruise added that Taylor was “schooling” him when the okays were being called, something that he found “awesome.” To this, Travis replied:
“She’s similar to you in terms of, you just want to understand. You want to know the knowledge. You want to know the tiny, minute details, and you just want the knowledge to be able to understand…That’s why she loves directing her music videos.”
Travis gushed about how Taylor Swift gets engulfed by the rhythm and the visuals of the MV. And her love for it would always reflect in the outcome.
Travis Kelce got candid about his marriage to Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift tied the knot in July 2026 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Now, just a few days before the podcast interview with Tom Cruise, Chris Berman asked Travis whether the news of his marriage to Taylor Swift was true. In response, Travis admitted that it was indeed true and even went on to joke by saying, “Didn't I see you there?”
Travis said that his wedding to Taylor was the best night of his life. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end believes that marrying the pop star was more than he could have ever dreamed of. He said that a lot of people showed up at their wedding and that love was in the air.
Travis' teammate Patrick Mahomes soon joined the conversation. He said that, as a guest at Travis and Taylor’s MSG wedding, it was a lot of fun from his perspective. He revealed that he even got to do a little bit of dancing, calling it his first dancing experience of the offseason.
