Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleKansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has made a highly anticipated comeback in the 2026 NFL season. But off the field, he recently found himself in a difficult situation after losing his investment in a massive financial fraud. The news was confirmed after federal prosecutors identified him as one of the victims in a USD 35 million Ponzi scheme. It was reportedly run by an investment advisor, Siddharth Jawahar. Although the exact amount lost by Travis has been kept under wraps, there are doubts over the possibility of him and others recovering their money.
Travis Kelce might never be able to recover the finances lost in a major fraud case
Travis Kelce's name came up in federal court documents after Jawahar was sent to 11 years in prison for carrying out a multi-million dollar investment fraud scheme. Federal prosecutors claimed that Jawahar, who co-founded Swiftarc Capital LLC, gathered more than USD 35 million. This money was sourced from investors over several years by misleading them about the performance of their investments.

Authorities have emphasized that Travis was a victim and did not accuse him of any wrongdoing. Meanwhile, the court documents did not clarify how much money the NFL star had invested or lost. But his connection to Swiftarc Capital had been publicly reported in the past through some investment-related ventures.
According to federal prosecutors, Jawahar had put most of his clients' money into a single high-risk investment, which involved Philip Morris Pakistan. When it performed poorly, he allegedly hid the losses and continued to tell investors that their portfolios were getting positive returns.
Rather than earning legitimate profits, authorities explained that Jawahar used the money from new investors to pay earlier investors. In this way, it created the illusion that the fund was successful. In fact, the cycle continued for several years while more victims were brought into the scheme. Alongside, he used the money to finance a lavish lifestyle.
Court filings state that Jawahar spent money on private jet travel, luxury hotels, expensive apartments, designer shopping trips, and expensive dining. This scheme reportedly worked from 2016 through 2023 before it caught the attention of federal authorities and collapsed.
Whether Travis Kelce and other victims will get their money back or not remains the biggest unanswered question in the investigation. For now, a federal Judge asked Jawahar to pay more than USD 31 million in restitution to victims. As per the theory, it means investors like Travis could eventually get some compensation. However, financial recovery in such large fraud cases is practically complex.

The majority of the money has allegedly disappeared through his failed investments and personal spending. So, if those funds could not be recovered through asset seizures, victims might get only a small anmount of what they originally lost. Jawahar's situation has also made things difficult. After the end of his sentence, he is expected to face deportation proceedings.
