There were reports floating on social media that the actress next to Yash was Natalie Bun, but it was director, Geetu Mohandas who confirmed that Beatriz Taufenbach is the actress seen in the teaser. The scene has been called 'obscene' and also 'morally offensive' by many social activists, political groups, and formal complaints have been filed with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, Toxic director, Geetu Mohandas, did not stay quiet after the criticism was floated on social media. She had penned a message on her social media that read, "Chilling while people figure out female ple**ure, consent, women playing systems, etc."

There were speculations earlier that Hollywood actress, Natalie Burn was playing the co-star of Yash. However, it was Geetu Mohandas who confirmed that the lady in the teaser was Beatriz and not Natalie.

Beatriz Taufenbach was born in Kyiv and started off her artistic sojourn by learning classical ballet. She had trained at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy located in Moscow before Beatriz went to the  Royal Ballet School located in London.
