A ‘bridezilla’ is a strange species of would-be brides, which tends to shriek and scream at the drop of a hat. They won’t listen to others opinion and are just plain selfish, seriously speaking! Their nostrils flare up at the smallest provocation, they are demanding and they go by the idiom, “my way or the highway." These characteristic traits creep in generally a month before the wedding as planning and nervousness takes a toll on the brides-to-be.

#1. Bankrupting their parents and fiancé
Every bride wants to have a dream wedding, but that does not mean you blow up money on inconsequential things. Do you really need an ice sculpture for your summer wedding? Is it necessary to spend a lakh on Prada heels which you will never wear after your wedding? Does you fiancé have to buy you a 5 carat solitaire when he really can’t afford it?

Some brides don’t really think twice before demanding something. And most of the times, their parents or their fiancé don’t have the heart to refuse them. But you must remember that you are a grown up and your wedding should not eat up their savings. That is why, always list out things which you cannot absolutely do without and chuck the unimportant ones out of the list. People won’t remember your Prada heals or your solitaire, they will remember all the beautiful moments from your wedding, which don’t really come with a price tag.

#2. You keep talking about your wedding 24/7
It is true that your wedding is something that you are really excited about, but that does not mean that you yap about it all day long. Your work and other things should not take a backseat just because you are getting married. You must also understand your loved ones have better things to do than listen to your unending wedding tales. You must not forcefully drag someone to help you out with your wedding nor should you emotionally blackmail them.

People are forever wary of a bridezilla and once they identify her, they tend to maintain a safe distance. So, if people are avoiding your calls, then it is time you revisit the past. How has your behaviour been lately? Are you overtly rude to people who don’t take interest in your wedding? Do you call up your wedding planner at ungodly hours, just because you are panicking about whether to use candles or diyas? If yes, then stop now.
Pay a visit or call up the people you have hurt with your harsh words and attitude, and apologise. Remember that a thank you and a sorry, go a long way in winning the hearts of your loved ones. And yes, these are the people who will make your wedding memorable at the end of the day.

#4. You are fighting with your fiancé constantly
Your fiancé is your best friend not your enemy, and if you are fighting with him too frequently, then it is time to check your priorities. It doesn’t matter who comes for your wedding or whether the food is served in gorgeous bonechina. What matters is the everlasting bond you share with your husband. So, take a deep breath and don’t let small things sour your mood. Your wedding may not turn out to be as perfect as you hoped for, but it will definitely be one of the best moments of your life.
