Tom Kane was the legendary voice actor known for bringing life to the epic characters in The Powerpuff Girls and Star Wars. It was on May 18, 2026, that Tom Kane passed away at a Kansas hospital. He was surrounded by his loved ones during his time of death. He died due to a stroke he had suffered back in 2020. Tom's daughter, Sam, once in 2020 broke the news to the concerned fans about why her dad was missing in action and spoke about his stroke.
Tom Kane's voice can never be forgotten, whether it is in Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes or as the voice of Professor Utonium in the famous Cartoon Network series. It was on December 31, 2020, that Tom's daughter, Sam, via his Facebook account, introduced herself and explained why Tom was missing in action.

Sam, in her long post, revealed that it was in October 2020 that her father had a left-sided stroke that gave him right-sided weakness and damage to the speech centre of his brain. This meant he could not efficiently communicate verbally, nor read or spell. He was little competent and very much himself, but could only get a few words correctly. Her heartbreaking post had spoken on her dad undergoing therapy, and it read:
"As many of you might know about strokes, it is possible for him to gain these functions back and we have found him excellent care in Kansas City for speech, occupational, and physical therapy, but for now, we have been warned by his Neurologist that he may not do voiceovers again. My dad still remains in good spirits and his extreme stubbornness has helped him already show improvements in speech. He is fully on board with me sharing this and he will see anything you guys post. Lots of love from our family to yours. Here are some recent photos of dad."

Tom Kane's daughter, Sam, had also mentioned that his neurologist had warned that he may never be able to do voiceovers again. His fans prayed for his recovery as one wrote, "All our best wishes for him! Thank you for the update, Sam. Prayers on the way! Sending love to your family. Prayers and hugs! May he have a full and relatively swift recovery! Get well soon. Your work has been inspirational to many. Best wishes for a fast and smooth recovery. Love and positivity to you and your family. Thank you for everything that you’ve done! One fan had also written:
"God bless you Tom! God bless you and your family. Much much love to the family. Oh my! Prayers of strength and healing we send. Full recovery you will make. Strong you will stay, much love we send.Best from the crew here at Kansas City's Northeast News! Sending love to Tom and family. So sorry to hear this Sam. Tom Kane, wishing you the best in 2021.
