Flowers are a very important part of Indian wedding. Since India enjoys richness in flora and fauna, finding exquisite flowers is not a tough job here. Based on the theme of the wedding, flowers can be bought and used for decoration. Different styles, patterns and colors can be mixed to bring out a vibrant decoration feel. But sometimes it becomes little difficult to figure out what to use where. For such complex times, here’s a hands-on tips for flower decoration in Indian weddings.
Choice of flowers to some extent depends on the season in which the wedding is set. If it’s a summer wedding, subdued shades of pink, blues and citrus colours will give a very cool feeling. For winters, it’s better to opt for bright earthy tones to perk up the chills of the season.
The area where the bride and groom would be blessed by family members and friends should be beautifully decorated with as many flowers as possible. They could be bright red or golden jasmine or roses and orchids. They are strewn all over the place to give a very softy touch to the whole ceremony.
Flowers for wedding area need to add to the ethnic look imparted by lanterns and candles. Baby roses all round the candles and lanterns will look very beautiful, thereby elevating the entire look of the event.
The mandap is the main place where wedding takes place and vows exchanged. Inadvertently, it has to look the part. On the stage, erect a four-pole canopy circling the whole platform. Make a mix of silver, red and yellow flowers to decorate the stage. Pin it to the canopy and the poles.
Instead of going for traditional solid roofing over the wedding area, put up net drapes. This will help you to decorate them the way you want adding more falvour to the wedding. Keep the color silver and fill it up with fresh flowers like lilies, orchids, carnations and baby roses.
Garlandsare one adornment that begins the matrimony. So undoubtedly, it has to look beautifully laid with flowers and other accessories. Make garlands with a variety of flowers but keep roses in excess, as it is the flower of the wedding season. Include variously colored ribbon or nets to go with the garlands.
Apart from the above mentioned flower decoration, you add a little more extras to it to make it look prim, perfect and naturally scented. Pin up bouquets of flowers at selected place all around the wedding venue. This will complete the look and feel of the flower decorations.
