Timothee Chalamet’s appearance at the finals leads to a wild response from the public

While the NBA final is trending right now for the presence of multiple celebrities, Timothee Chalamet grabbed a lot of attention on social media for another reason. This was due to a new video that was shared by an anonymous user on X (formerly Twitter). 

Notably, the clip was captured from the other side of a street while Timothee appeared near a vehicle, where he was alone and not accompanied by anyone. The actor was spotted waving to the viewers at a nearby cafe, who were seemingly excited to see him. Timothee then immediately went inside another vehicle, possibly leaving for somewhere. The clip was reportedly recorded near Madison Square Garden, where the third game between the Knicks and the Spurs was organised.

Timothee’s reaction to the victory of the Knicks in the second game on June 5, 2026 (ET) is also creating headlines. He reacted to the win by hugging another fan backstage. 

Timothee Chalamet has been attending the Knicks games for many years

Timothee Chalamet’s attraction towards the Knicks games dates back to his childhood when he was ten years old. Notably, his presence at the games has grabbed attention specifically due to his habit of skipping certain events, including the Met Gala, which happened twice in 2025 and 2026. The reason behind skipping the event in 2026 was to watch the match between the Knicks and the 76ers.

Fans of Timothee Chalamet also expected him and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, to make their red carpet debut at the Met Gala 2025, which eventually did not happen. Timothee later appeared for an interview in December 2025, addressing his absence at the event, and said that his focus was on supporting the Knicks without being distracted by anything else. Timothy further stated:

“That Knicks run last year, I think that was the most fun period of my life. Those four months, I’m not even kidding. Just the Garden being electric.”

While the Knicks made it to the finals in May 2026, Timothee Chalamet celebrated the same by sharing an Instagram Story. It featured a picture of him inside the court after the game ended. Notably, Timothee was spotted drinking from a cup and was standing beside director, Spike Lee, who has also been a fan of the Knicks for a long time. Timothee wrote on top of the photo:

“What a night worth the hangover.”
