Tim McGraw's Wife Faith Hill Recalled Being Engaged When She Fell For Singer, 'Judge My Character..'

During his recent performance at Cincinnati Riverbend Music Center, the singer left fans disappointed when he took the stage 40 minutes late. Tim clarified that he was late due to travel and weather issues. Trouble for Tim wasn't over that night, as while rocking to I Like It, I Love It, the singer fell off really hard from a speaker.
Videos of Tim have taken over the internet, leaving many worried for the country star. Amid this, the focus has also shifted to Tim’s personal life. For those unaware, Tim McGraw has been married to Faith Hill since 1996.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill met for the first time during a Country Radio Seminar showcase for new talent, which took place in Nashville. While they hit it off soon after, it is worth mentioning that Faith was engaged to someone else at that time. However, Faith made it clear that she did not regret leaving behind her ex-fiancé and record producer Scott Hendricks for Tim.
In an interview, she admitted that she couldn't control if people were going to judge her character and think badly of her since she left Scott for somebody else. But the one thought in her mind back then was that there was no way she was going to let Tim McGraw slip through her hands. She stated:
“If someone is going to judge my character because I was engaged to somebody and then I left him for somebody else - ‘Oh, okay, now she’s a slut and a bad person’ - I can’t control that. But I wasn’t about to let Tim slip through my hands. And I had more self-worth and self-respect to not.”
Faith Hill also claimed that her engagement to Scott Hendricks “obviously wasn't a rock-solid situation or otherwise it wouldn't have ended.”
On the other hand, Tim McGraw was himself in a relationship with Kristine Donahue when he first met Faith in 1994. While speaking with Billboard, Tim had revealed that his then-girlfriend felt threatened when she witnessed the chemistry he had with Faith. Tim recalled:
“For me, there was an intense physical attraction. I guess my girlfriend saw it in my eyes. She said, ‘I don't want you around her.'”
In a joint interview, Tim and Faith both said that the initial days of their romance were very “cat and mouse.” In fact, Tim believed that he never had a shot with the blonde bombshell until he kissed her for the first time. From that point onwards, Tim shared that “things started snowballing.” Later, Tim confessed that he had worked Faith over chicken and dumplings.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill got married on October 6, 1996. Shortly after this, the couple revealed that they were expecting their first child and welcomed their daughter, Grace, on May 5, 1997. They welcomed their second daughter, Maggie, on August 12, 1998, and their third daughter, Audrey, on December 6, 2001.
While their relationship has been growing stronger ever since, they were always plagued by several unsavory rumors, especially about Faith. However, age never took them to heart. Laughing at them, she said:
“I’ve had an affair with my makeup artist, a female; an affair with my hairstylist; my marriage is on the rocks; (daughter) Maggie is not Tim’s child. The naysayers. I don’t need their approval. I have too much going on. If that’s their entertainment, fine.”
