Technology, innovation and its effects have gone way beyond human expectations in today’s world. Be it any field, technology has changed the picture of its being. Everything is bigger, better and fancier. And to explain what we mean in a better way, we get you a wedding like no other with its highlight being the iPhone 6s Plus, and the photographer’s new-age advanced and expert vision.
So, here is the story of a small gadget with its big marvels.
Sephi Bergerson, a renowned award-winning photographer who moved to India around 14 years back captured a big fat Indian wedding in the beautiful city of Udaipur, using his iPhone 6s Plus. Yes, you heard it right, using his cell phone!
But, that was not the real challenge. What was really difficult was to find someone who would trust Bergerson to use his phone to shoot the biggest and most important event of their life as people usually believe that the bigger the equipment, the better the images. Thus, the credit also goes to this beautiful couple, Ayushi and Abhishek, as they trusted him with his decision of fulfilling his dream- to capture the biggest wedding of his career on a phone. And to their delight, the end results were nothing less than sheer brilliance!
Hear what he has to say, in his own words:
On his experience on working with this wonder gadget, Bergerson says:
‘’The iPhone isn’t going to replace the DSLR but just enables a completely different experience of shooting. The kind of images that come out are somewhere between journalism kind of documentary and pictures that look like paintings. The phone also allows the entire post production.’’
He also believes that the iPhone is possibly a bigger revolution than digital photography as its camera is also a computer, which gives access to Internet and access to the largest library on earth- all in the palm of his hands. It is a versatile camera that opens a window of opportunities.

Further, on his experience on shooting an Indian wedding this big with his iPhone, Sephi says:
“Shooting a whole wedding on the iPhone, as much fun as it sounds, was actually quite a challenge. I was not trying to document everything, but rather focus on images that would later translate to the artistic vision that I had for the post processing’’.
But, the journey was not that easy. He further adds:
“Daytime pictures where fantastic, but the night still remained a bit tricky. The new iPhone 6s Plus camera is superb in terms of resolution and colour rendition, but low light photography was difficult, on the dance floor for example, as the ISO limit was not letting me shoot without having motion blur. I had a hand-held LED light to help me get proper exposure’’.
Have a look at some night-time photographs clicked by him at this wedding.
He not only clicked the pictures on the phone, but also had the opportunity of sharing them with his clients at the same time, and the comfort of editing and carrying out all the post-production work on this magnificent and full of features hand-held gadget.
And, as the phone helped him make direct eye contact with his subjects unlike a big bulky camera that would block it, he gave the couple some of the most breathtaking and memorable shots that captured the essence of their wedding, its theme, and the love they share for each other. Kudos to his outlook, imagination and hard work!
