We all know about big fat Indian Weddings. But, how fat is really fat? What if we say an INR 140 Crore worth wedding?
Yes, Dubai-based Indian millionaire, Yogesh Mehta spent £14 million (Rs 140 crore) on his son Rohan Mehta's three-day-long extravagant wedding with Roshni, a London-based owner of a fashion company. The wedding took place in Florence, Italy, from November 25 onwards.
Attended by more than 500 people- family, friends and big business heads, the wedding had guests who flew down from all over the world. And, they were not disappointed to find the most lavish three-day Indian wedding in Italy.
Luxury hotels were booked for the event that was much publicised in the local press. La Nazione, a leading local newspaper, called it a “stellar wedding that moves the GDP of Florence”. It was reported that wedding planners from India and Italy were involved in the preparations.
Roshni, who adorned some very beautiful ensembles for the event, looked magical. The groom was also dressed in lavish sherwanis and emerald chains for all the events.
With breathtaking fireworks, crystal chandeliers, and luxurious feasts for the guests, Mr.Mehta made sure ‘’The Magical RORO Wedding’; as it was called- was a wedding to be remembered!
Musical performances by DJ Zubair, Sukhbir Singh, and Natalie Di Luccio graced the evening. The local council refused permission for the groom to arrive at the wedding venue on an elephant, citing health and safety reasons. The reception was held in the grand estate of Villa Le Corti in San Casciano.
