Who doesn’t like cleanliness all the time? A neat and clean house, a well-groomed appetence, a tidy closet and hygienic food to eat are the things that everyone dreams to have. Some are able to achieve it while others are okay with just the ‘make do’ kind of clean. But, there are a few people for whom cleanliness means the world.

Things like a little dust, papers lying on the desk, an untidy kitchen, etc. give them nightmares. So, if the person you are dating has an obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), here are a few things you need to know right now!
Not only are they themselves really clean, but they also prefer to be in the company of people who are just like them. So if you really like them, you need to let go of your casual and usual chilled out lifestyle.
Because they think that they would end up meeting new people, who might not be as clean as they are. Plus, they avoid shaking hands with them. So, the next best option according to them is to give these gatherings a miss!
They might not hate animals, but even the idea of having pet hair all over the house with muddy paw prints on the floor after the usual walks can be a disturbing thought for them.
And you might also have to get your hands checked by them to ensure they are properly washed. No kidding!
And on the unusual occasions when they are not worrying, they worry about the fact that there is nothing to worry. Yes, that’s complicated!
Who will sweep the floors, do the dishes, dust the living room, wash the clothes etc. are thoughts that make them go crazy.
They might forget to carry their wallets in their bags, but a hand sanitiser and a small cloth duster- NEVER!!
Weird things like a pet parrot’s feather can give them a bad cold. Imagining much?
Even when they’re sure they locked the main door before leaving, they will still make it a point to turn back and re-check!
When they get nervous, to calm themselves down, they will always rub or touch certain things to calm down.
Because they get it cleaned so many times a day and walk bare foot on it! Also, their cleaning equipment cost a fortune, but they don’t mind paying for the shiny looking floors.
They need constant reassurance for everything. Everything will be alright- is like melody to their ears.
They like to go according to plan. Doing things out-of-the-blue or planning something can make them nervous. They always need to know what’s next.
Because that would mean the house getting dirty and possible germs entering their otherwise sterile environment.

You will sometimes wonder if they have even touched it in years as the clothes are stacked so perfectly without one crease getting spoiled!
They love symmetry. Everything should be kept in place and in order. Nothing should spoil the alignment of their museum-like home.
They cannot help it as cleaning also happens to be their favourite pass time. And that is also how their already clean house gets cleaner by the second!
No matter how bad their condition is, they would not mind waiting until they have reached home or a place they feel is clean enough to use.
Sharing is caring, right? Wrong, at least not for them. To have someone else’s food or giving someone a bite from their plate, sharing a drink etc. are things that are just unacceptable for them.
What if a fly fell into it or the chef’s hair got mixed in it or a dust particle came flying into it? They need to make sure it is not infested by anything like that before taking a bite.
For the simple reason that it is unhygienic for them! Yes, they do miss out on world’s tastiest type of food-the delicious flavours of "street food."
Having said all that, it is not as if they want to be like that. Many times, they too dream of being normal and also make an effort to start being more relaxed. But an extreme case of OCD is more serious than you imagined and needs to be taken care of with much care and sensitivity as people suffering from it are highly insecure, scared and reluctant.
