Well, the movie was highly anticipated, and with its release on January 9, 2026, it was also revealed that the sequel will be released soon. Amid the movie's release, people have been wondering whether it has similarities to Akshay Kumar's movie, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Well, the makers now have a reaction to the same. The movie, which shows Prabhas in a new kind of role, became the talk of the town. Prabhas lives with his grandmother, who suffers from Alzheimer's, and lives by her husband's memories. Prabhas caters to his grandmom and found out that the might patriarch had long passed away.
Following this, he found himself in Hyderabad selling an old mansion and came across truths, secrets, and ghosts. The horror-comedy felt a bit similar to the storyline of the movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which has two sequels, featuring Akshay Kumar in Part 1, Kartik Aaryan in Part 2 and Kartik Aaryan in Part 3. Well, sharing whether the movie is in any way similar to Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the film’s producer, T. G. Vishwa told Pinkvilla that the movie is very different from Bhool Bhulaiyaa in terms of visual elements as well as the background story.
Riddhi Kumar also talked about the comparison being drawn between the movies and said that Akshay Kumar's movie is obviously incredible, but The Raja Saab has a psychological element as well. Sharing that the point was to create a fantasy, Riddhi said:
"Bhool Bhulaiyaa is an incredible film—I love it—but it was very realistically grounded. It was set in a real palace, in a real situation, with real people. The Raja Saab has a psychological element too, but it also ventures into a fantasy world. The whole point of fantasy is to create something that has never existed."
