Currently, the South Korean mystery thriller, The Art of Sarah, is the talk of the town. While people worldwide are ready to stay hooked to the K-drama, the mystery thriller directed by Kim Jin-min is gearing up for its digital release. While the mysterious woman is chasing her big dreams, the detective chases her to uncover her deep secrets. The audience will get to see a cat-and-mouse game starring Shin Hae-sun and Lee Jun-hyuk. According to the latest reports, The Art of Sarah is scheduled to release on February 13, 2026, on the OTT giant, Netflix.

What to expect in the South Korean mystery thriller, The Art of Sarah?

The Art of Sarah revolves around a woman named 'Sarah Kim' (played by Shin Hae-sun), a luxury brand manager who has successfully made an enigmatic world. She has faked her identity and has built this world full of lies. However, her big dreams to lead a glamorous life begin to crumble when she becomes a suspect in a murder case. That’s when detective 'Park Mu-gyeong' (played by Lee Jun-hyuk) comes into the picture. 'Park Mu-gyeong' tries his best to uncover the deep secrets linked with 'Sarah Kim's' life.

Speaking about the eight-episode series, director, Kim Jin-min, in a press conference in Seoul on February 10, 2026, shared that the K-drama follows the psychological tension between 'Sarah Kim', whose only ambition is to have a lavish and glamorous lifestyle and 'Park Mu-gyeong', the detective who gets drawn into her world of lies. He also lauded the series’ unconventional narrative and the performances of Shin and Lee. For the uninitiated, the mystery thriller series is written by Chu Song-yeon. Kim was quoted as saying:

"There is a special kind of fun in watching a person chase their desires, and the man who’s trying to catch her. When I first saw the script, I thought the structure was very interesting as it unfolds in an unknowable way. If the audience likes this work, it means they liked the actors."

Shin Hae-sun and Lee Jun-hyuk reunite after 8 years for the mystery thriller, The Art of Sarah

For the unversed, Shin and Lee worked in the crime thriller series, Stranger in 2017. After 8 years, the duo had a reunion for the thriller series, The Art of Sarah. Speaking to the media, the lead actors of The Art of Sarah shared their working experience and also talked about their characters. Lee called Shin a 'wonderful partner' to work with. He said, "I had great trust in Shin Hye-sun as a wonderful partner and felt very comfortable working with her again. I had a lot of stress, and I think I went along with Mu-gyeong's emotions as there were missions at every filming site."

Shin also shared how their relationship evolved with time. She mentioned that back then, she was inexperienced and simply followed her senior. But while working in The Art of Sarah, a sense of trust has been built up. She also spoke about her character. She was quoted as saying:

"Back then, I was just a rookie following a great senior, but this time I felt a sense of trust where we understood each other without speaking. I was fascinated by how one person could have so many different identities, and I just had to take the role because I was so curious about how the story ends."
