Teresa Giudice Reveals How She Reconciled With Melissa Gorga After Years Of Family Fights On 'RHONJ'

The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars recently shared how they reconciled their relationship following several years of public fights. In fact, Teresa admitted that a private conversation helped them to fix their bond before the show's upcoming 15th season.
How did Teresa Giudice decide to make peace with her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga?
Teresa Giudice sat down for an interview with Us Weekly along with Melissa Gorga to share more details about their reconciliation. She revealed that the experience of shooting the reality show, Special Forces, with her elder daughter, Gia Giudice, helped her rethink the resentment she had held for Melissa.
In turn, Gia encouraged her mother to let go of her anger towards her ex-husband, Joe Giudice and the related legal issues that affected their family. At the same time, the conversation made Teresa realize that she needs to do the same when it comes to her bond with her brother, Joe Gorga, and his wife, Melissa.
The reality star explained that she did not want Gia to question her advice about family relationships due to her fight with her brother. So, she contacted Joe in September 2025 to make peace for their kids. Teresa also accepted that she wanted to move forward without allowing their anger to shape their future. She also credited her husband, Luis "Louie" Ruelas, for helping her learn to forgive and let go the past.
Teresa took the first step by sending an unexpected text message to her brother to meet him. Initially, Joe was also unsure about reconciling due to their history but eventually agreed to see her alone. In turn, they met at a cemetery mausoleum where their late parents are buried. Teresa chose the location because she wanted Joe to know that she had good intentions for their conversations. In her words:
"This needed to be something without an audience. You don't know if somebody's going to be really authentic in front of the camera. I know I'm as real as they come."
The reality star explained that, as siblings, they needed to discuss their issues rather than behaving as if nothing happened. They also placed some boundaries to ensure that the same conflicts don't resurface. According to Melissa, Joe returned home visibly emotional after the meeting. So, she did not want to stand in the way of him rebuilding his relationship with his sister.
Later, Teresa and Melissa's families met at a park, where Teresa, Joe, Melissa and Louie talked for many hours. Melissa also admitted the hurt they had caused to one another. She also offered her apologies for the same. She emphasized that the conversation needed to take place in private, away from the cameras and public attention. After the meeting, they all went for lunch and marked the beginning of a new relationship.
The long break in filming The Real Housewives of New Jersey also gave them the family space to work on their issues. For those who don't know, the show was put on hold in August 2024 after it became difficult to manage the tensions between the cast. Teresa and Melissa accepted that they had believed that they wouldn't be able to repair their relationship and become comfortable living separate lives. Recalling some things she said, Teresa admitted:
"I can't believe some of the things I said. Now I know how to choose my words more wisely. But I still have the same beliefs. Family was always the most important thing."
Eventually, the reconciliation also affected their kids, who grew up together before the conflict separated them. During Christmas Eve at Melissa's house, Teresa' daughter, Milania, and Melissa's daughter, Antonia, needed time to reconnect. But later they began to make TikTok videos together.

Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga's conflict goes back more than a decade, to the beginning of RHONJ Season 3. Melissa joined the show, which began their conflict. They had fights over how Melissa and Joe came into the show behind her back, conflict over family loyalties, and repeated clashes that took place before the public. Teresa also had to go to prison, divorced Joe Giudice, and later married Louie Ruelas.
Teresa had also called Melissa a "gold digger" and accused her of taking her brother away from her. Things went to the next level in 2022, when Joe and Melissa did not attend Teresa and Louie's wedding. Later, towards the end of Season 14, the women were barely talking, and the family was left divided.
