'Tehran' Fame, Dana Eden Found Dead In Her Hotel Room, Police Investigates Possible Foul Play

A heartbreaking tragedy has left the entertainment world abuzz. In the early hours of February 16, 2026, news of Dana Eden's death sent shockwaves. The producer and creator of the show, Tehran died at 52 while filming the fourth season in Greece. The Israeli media confirmed the demise of the much loved producer and shared that she was found dead in her hotel room.

Dana Eden passed away at the age of 52. Greek news outlets, such as Ta Nea, Documento, and Proto Tema, confirmed the demise of the much-loved producer. The news outlet revealed that Dana was found dead in an Athens hotel room where she had been staying since February 4, 2026. The reports further revealed that it was her brother who discovered the body.

According to reports, the police found bruises on Dana Eden's neck and limbs. The report further stated that pills were found in the room. All these sources said that authorities were investigating the possibility of s**cide. Israeli news outlets report her age as 52, while Greek media said she was 53.

Was there any Iranian involvement in Dana Eden's death?

The Israeli media reported the news on the morning of Monday, February 16, 2026, after Greek news outlets shared that Athens police were investigating the possibility that Dana Eden was murdered by agents of the Iranian government. The speculations emerged amid constant attacks on the television series, Tehran and its state media since it first premiered.

However, Yonatan Rieger of Channel 12 claimed that it was "fake news" and that there had been no mention of a murder investigation or Iranian involvement. The production company agreed, stating that the rumours are unfounded. The Israeli embassy in Athens further confirmed that it has contacted Dana's family to assist with handling the event.

Tehran production company reacts to Dana Eden's death

In 2007, Dana Eden partnered with producer, Shula Spiegel to found their own production company named Donna and Shula Productions. It is the same banner under which the makers produced the much-loved show, Tehran. In a statement to Walla, the company issued a notice on her demise and stated:

"We are shocked and saddened by the untimely passing of our beloved friend and partner, Dana Eden. Dana, a gifted and internationally renowned creator, has been active in the industry for over thirty years, and over the past eighteen years at the production company Dana and Shula Productions has won multiple awards, including an Emmy Award for producing the international series Tehran."

The primary Israeli broadcast network, KAN, also issued a statement on Dana Eden's death. For the unversed, it was the same company that worked with Dana. In a statement, they expressed their heartbreak over her passing and stated:

"We are saddened by the passing of our friend and partner in a long line of productions, series, and programs. Dana was among the senior figures in the Israeli television industry and was a central figure in the creation and leadership of some of the most prominent and influential productions in the corporation."

Dana Eden began her career in television as a producer with the pilot episode of the show Chalomot Ne'urim, which aired in 1998. Since then, she has become one of Israel's most prestigious women producers, working on shows such as Saving the Wildlife, She Has It, Magpie, and Shakshouka.
