Taylor Frankie Paul Says Ex Dakota Mortensen 'Slammed Her Head' In Car Dashboard In New Court Filing

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives drama has taken yet another serious turn as Taylor Frankie Paul has submitted a new protective order against her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. The Bachelorette star, who previously pleaded guilty to domestic abuse and aggressive behaviour for the infamous bar stool throwing incident from 2023, has returned to court with serious allegations against Dakota.

Taylor Frankie Paul recalls intense pain after Dakota Mortensen "slammed" her head into the dashboard

In new filings submitted to the court on April 7, 2026, Taylor detailed four alleged incidents of domestic abuse by Dakota, as per a PEOPLE report. The reality TV star allegedly recounted an encounter that happened during the early hours of February 23, 2026, where she accused Dakota of driving her away from home, where her three children, including their shared son, Ever, were asleep. The two allegedly broke into a fight, during which Taylor claims Dakota slammed her head into the dashboard of his truck. The court filing reads:

"The parties argued and Dakota assaulted Taylor by slamming her head against the dashboard of his truck and striking her knee and elbow,"

Taylor also submitted photos of bruising as part of the filing and claimed that Dakota "requested sex" after an alleged altercation in February 2026. The first incident of alleged domestic violence allegedly occurred on May 27, 2025, as per the new court filing. Taylor and Dakota had gotten into a verbal fight in the former's home, during which Dakota refused to leave and allegedly kicked her. She also attached "photos of injuries" that she reported were bruises from that incident.

Taylor Frankie Paul accuses Dakota Mortensen of stalking and possessive behaviour

Taylor's third allegation against Dakota in the filing was of "stalking", where she cited a separate incident on Valentine's Day 2026, shortly before the promo for The Bachelorette went live. The reality TV star mentioned that Dakota had her initials ("TFP") tattooed on his inner lip, which she claims indicated a controlling and possessive behaviour.

Taylor also cited multiple incidents to highlight Dakota's alleged pattern of harassment, coercion, and unwanted contact, including showing up uninvited, refusing to leave, and constantly sending emotional messages even after their breakup. According to a sworn declaration attached to the official documents, Taylor accused Dakota of trying to paint her as an abusive mother who can’t take care of their son "in an effort to sabotage my career."

Speaking about their co-parenting dynamic, the 31-year-old reality star says it has been adequate despite their fallouts. However, following Dakota's protective order filing against her on March 19, 2026, she is not going to stay quiet. Ahead of the estranged parents' next hearing (scheduled for April 30, 2026), the Secret Lives alum plans to present evidence proving that Dakota was the "primary aggressor" in the relationship. The sworn declaration reportedly states:

"Dakota filed a protective order against me on March 19, 2026. I will respond to his allegations in a separate declaration before the hearing on April 30, 2026 before Commissioner Minas. Suffice it to say, I completely reject Dakota’s characterizations of my conduct and his attempts to paint me as an abusive mother and co-parent. The evidence will show the Court that Dakota has been the primary aggressor and has been violent and abusive toward me."

Where the situation stands now

The new allegations have surfaced amid the ongoing legal battle between Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensem. The latter was previously granted a temporary restraining order and temporary custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever, on March 19, 2026, but recent court proceedings have allowed Taylor eight hours per week of supervised visitation. This decision will reportedly stay in place until the next hearing, which will happen on April 30, 2026. Authorities have confirmed that domestic violence allegations have been made by both parties, with investigations ongoing.
