Taylor Frankie Paul was seen in public for the first time after her Bachelorette season was suddenly cancelled, and the situation around her has quickly become serious. Just hours before she was spotted outside her Utah home, her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, was granted a temporary restraining order by a Salt Lake City court. He told the court that Taylor posed an 'immediate threat' to his safety. The order now stops Taylor from contacting him or their two-year-old son until a hearing set for April 7, 2026. The latest incident has added more pressure on the reality star, whose show was pulled just days before it was supposed to air.

Taylor Frankie Paul, 31, had been in New York to promote her upcoming season of The Bachelorette, but the show was pulled just days before it was supposed to air. After that, she returned to Utah and was seen outside her five-bedroom home on friday afternoon. In photos shared by the Daily Mail, she looked stressed. She wore dark sunglasses and a green sweatshirt and tried to keep a low profile while leaving in her white SUV.

Just hours later, a court decision added more tension to the situation. Dakota Mortensen, 33, was granted a temporary restraining order by a court in Salt Lake City. According to documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the order stops Paul from contacting Mortensen or their two-year-old son, Ever, until a hearing on April 7, 2026. The order is strict, and it does not allow her to call, message, email, or approach him. It also blocks any form of threatening or stalking behaviour.

The situation became more serious when a video from 2023 was published by TMZ. In that video, Taylor Frankie Paul is seen trying to put Dakota Mortensen in a headlock and later hitting him with a metal barstool. The clip also shows her daughter, Indy, who was crying on the sofa during the incident. A police report from that time said the child, who was five years old then, was hit during the fight and had ‘a goose egg on her head.’

This incident was part of a felony case for aggravated assault. Taylor Frankie Paul later agreed to a plea deal and received three years of probation, which is set to end in August, 2026. Several other charges, including child abuse and domestic violence in the presence of a child, were dropped as part of that deal. After the video came out, Disney released a statement explaining why the show was cancelled. The company was quoted as saying:

“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision not to move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

According to reports, the cancellation could cost ABC up to USD 28 million, as filming had already been completed. At the same time, filming for another show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, has also been paused. Reports say some cast members told Hulu they were not comfortable continuing with her. Taylor Frankie Paul, in a statement to the Daily Mail, said she had been dealing with mental and physical abuse and spoke about women who struggle in silence while facing controlling and aggressive former partners. She also shared that she is focusing on her family’s safety and is now getting ready to tell her side of the story.

On the other side, Dakota Mortensen spoke through a representative to Entertainment Weekly, saying his main focus is protecting their son, Ever and that he wants to co-parent in a better way. The representative also explained that he had stayed quiet for a long time but now feels the situation has become too serious to ignore. The two have been in an on-and-off relationship since 2022 and share two-year-old child together.
