Daughter of legendary actress, Tanuja and the younger sister of Kajol, Tanishaa Mukerji is riding high on her professional front with her stint on the reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Apart from her dancing skills, she has also proved her acting mettle by working in multiple movies. She made her Bollywood debut opposite Uday Chopra in the film, Neal 'n' Nikki. Following this, she worked in several movies, including Sarkar, Antar, and One Two Three, among others.
During her debut movie, Tanishaa Mukerji was also rumoured to be in a relationship with her co-star, Uday Chopra. However, they parted ways soon after being in a relationship for quite some time. Now, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Tanishaa spilt the beans about her relationship with Uday, and the two of them had fallen for each other. Talking along the same lines, Tanishaa revealed that they met during the Bollywood hit film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge shoot, which marked the directorial debut of Uday's brother Aditya Chopra. Following this, love naturally blossomed between her and Uday. She said:
“Uday aur mai Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge ke time pe mile the. And vo 10-15 saal pehle the. Aur uske cause me hum dost ban gye the, and we were always friends. And I think aise hi film ke dauraan hum nazdeek ho gaye. And then, we fell in love. It was just a natural progression for us.”

Further, Tanishaa was asked the real reason why they broke up. To this, the actress mentioned that their relationship lasted for two years, and they broke up since things weren't working for them. The actress also shared that the breakup was emotionally tough for her. However, revealing that they are still friends, Tanishaa said:
“Kyun hota hai breakup? You realise that something is not working. It's very natural and I think log bahut badi cheezein banate hai uske baare me. We realised it was not working, and we are still friends.”
In the same conversation, Tanishaa also opened up about getting extremely intimate with Uday in their 2005 film, Neal 'n' Nikki. Tanishaa mentioned that due to the same reason, her sister, Kajol hasn't watched the film till now. But Tanishaa said that since she was dating Uday then, she felt at ease, shooting such intimate scenes with him. Mukerji added:
“I was comfortable because Uday and I knew each other. We started dating during the shoot of the film, so it was like I was doing it with my boyfriend, so it became easy. It was too much kissing on-screen. My sister (Kajol) has not watched the film till today. Even I tell my friend's kids to watch it after growing up a little bit. That conservativeness exists in our country... If today Neil ‘N' Nikki would have come to me, I would have offered to play the character differently because you are influencing young minds. At that time, I didn't get involved in it enough.”

If reports are to be believed, apart from her co-star, Uday Chopra, Tanishaa has also dated her co-contestant, Armaan Kohli, and late actor, Sidharth Shukla, among others. Currently, she is not in a relationship and is not thinking of marriage even at 45. However, time and again, Tanishaa is speculated to be tying the knot soon. For instance, when on January 3, 2021, Tanishaa shared stunning pictures on her IG handle, her bichuas sparked the rumours of her secret wedding. In the photos, Tanishaa looked gorgeous in a powder-blue crochet top with a plunging neckline. However, the picture, where she flaunted her feet with toe rings as she lay on a sunbed on a beach, caught everyone’s attention, making them wonder about her secret wedding.
