It was not long before, when a Kerala toy company had created a Taimur Ali Khan-inspired doll, which is still reportedly in huge demand! Sharing his dadi, Sharmila Tagore's reaction on the same, a Deccan Chronicle report quoted a source as saying, “She (Sharmila Tagore) was as startled by the emergence of the doll as anyone else. The family is still trying to come to terms with Taimur’s overwhelming popularity. Saif was summoned by his mom (the legendary actress Sharmila Tagore) to discuss the issue. Normally, Sharmilaji is the most non-interfering mother you will find. Then came the news which took Taimur Ali Khan’s popularity to a whole different tangent. At the Cosmo India Blogger’s Award 2019, cookies with Taimur Ali Khan's picture printed on it were served to the guests that night. A famous baker, Chhavi Khattar had baked the cookies, which we bet was the highlight of the evening! An array of pictures of the cookies with bloggers being obsessed by it were doing the rounds on the internet since then and like how!
Speaking about the Taimur Ali Khan inspired toy which became immensely popular, daddy Saif Ali Khan addressed it in an interview with Hindustan Times. Expressing his concern, the doting daddy had said, “Maybe I should trademark his name…The least they could do is send me one! I am glad people are benefiting from him. I only ask God for his safety and happiness in return.”
In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, mommy Kareena Kapoor Khan too, had expressed her concern about son, Taimur Ali Khan’s growing popularity and had said, “Taimur can’t run away from his popularity and neither can his parents. When I saw the doll, I wondered what was I supposed to say. But Saif pointed out that it is because people love him so much and such things are a blessing for him. There is so much genuine warmth for our son that it’s bad to stop people from clicking his pictures or making his dolls. But, they should understand that he is a two-year-old child and needs a normal life. Both Saif and I are struggling to give him that and will continue to do so without telling the media to back off, no matter how annoying it gets after a point.
