'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' Brings New 'Nattu Kaka', Late Actor, Ghanshyam Nayak's Son Reacts

The makers of 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' introduced actor, Kiran Bhatt as the new 'Nattu Kaka' in the show. The original actor, late Ghanshyam Nayak's son, Vikas Nayak reacted to it.

'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' Brings New 'Nattu Kaka', Late Actor, Ghanshyam Nayak's Son Reacts

The makers of the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah introduced popular actor, Kiran Bhatt as the new Nattu Kaka in the sitcom. After the demise of the late actor, Ghanshyam Nayak, the makers brought Kiran Bhatt to fill in the giant shoes of the late actor. Although the announcement irked many people, but now in an interview with a leading publication, Vikas Nayak approved the casting of Kiran Bhatt to play his late father's character, Nattu Kaka.

Along with the announcement, the makers posted a picture of Kiran Bhatt on the official Instagram handle of the show. In the picture, Kiran can be seen standing with Satish Kumar Modi. The announcement note in the caption can be read as:

"Aap sabhi ne hume aur Nattu Kaka ko itna saara pyaar diya, uske liye hum shukraguzaar hai. Yehi pyaar ko hamesha banaye rakhna... Iss hi baat pe presenting our new Nattu Kaka."

In an interview with ETimes, late actor, Ghanshyam Nayak's son, Vikas Nayak opened up about the casting of Kiran Bhatt as the new Nattu Kaka in the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The doting son revealed that Kiran Bhatt has always admired his late father's work greatly. Vikas also added that time and again, Kiran Bhatt used to gift watches to his father on multiple occasions and confirmed that they shared a friendly bond. Reflecting on the casting of Kiran Bhatt in the role of Nattu Kaka, which was originally played by his father and everyone's favourite actor, Ghanshyam Nayak, since the beginning, Vikas said:

"I think Kiran Bhatt Ji who has come in, will probably do good justice to the role originally played by my father. My Dad acted in many Gujarati plays that Kiran ji produced. He has a fascination for watches and he often gifted watches to my Dad. I sent him a text congratulating him on his appointment."

Nattu kaka Ghanshyam nayak

Last year in an interview with ETimes, the late Ghanshyam Nayak's son, Vikas Nayak, had talked about his father's last few days and had also recalled that terrible time. Reflecting on the same, Vikas had stated that it was an extremely difficult time for him and his entire family to see his father's health drowning at a rapid pace after a little improvement in his health. Revealing how his father, Ghanshyam Nayank had rushed to the ICU once again, he had said:

"Towards the last few days, dad had difficulty in breathing, and we tried to arrange for oxygen and nurses at home. But he slipped further. And we rushed him to the hospital. He had to be admitted to the ICU, then was moved into a room as he got a bit better but again had to be sent back to the ICU as the condition deteriorated yet again."

Going further in the interview, when Vikas Nayak was asked to recall the exact moment when he had started feeling worried about his father, Ghanshyam Nayak's health, the doting son had shared details about the same. Admitting that he was quite aware of the dark future that was coming in the way of his family, Vikas had shared his thoughts about the reality check which he had got about his father's slow death. He said:

"15 days prior to his demise, his sugar had shot up to alarming heights and he wasn't recognising anybody. But after the sugar level went down, he knew who was around him. However, on October 2, Dad asked me; 'Who am I?' He had forgotten his own name. That is the time I realised that he'd started going into the other world."
