What caught everyone's attention upon the trailer’s release was Anthony's uncanny resemblance to Sylvester in both appearance and voice. Why did Jennifer Flavin file for divorce from Sylvester Stallone?
According to reports, Jennifer Flavin filed for divorce from Sylvester Stallone in a Palm Beach, Florida, courthouse on August 19, 2022. Her move came as a shock to many, as just three months before this, the couple had celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They even shared respective posts on their Instagram handle for the occasion. It is worth mentioning that at the time, Sylvester had confirmed that their family was filming for a reality series for Paramount+.
However, no one realised at first that trouble was lurking behind their happy statements. A Hollywood source who was close to the couple later revealed that they “are very different people, age-wise and in temperament.” They claimed that “what was once exciting and challenging is now routine and irritating.”
Well, Sylvester Stallone’s impetuousness might have created some issues between him and his wife. A source close to Jennifer told People, “He tends to do things on a whim without asking her before.” Sylvester had admitted that he did butt heads with Jennifer over getting his Rottweiler, but clarified that the dog was not the reason for their split.
Despite this, the source added that their “disagreements on little things add up after so many years together.” Another source told the outlet, “It really wasn't just one issue that made her file for divorce. They have had lots of issues for years, and she just had enough.”
According to reports, Jennifer had claimed “intentional dissipation” of marital assets in her divorce filing. For those who don't know, under Florida law, one can include things like excessive spending, gambling, gift-giving, or unnecessary borrowing by a spouse at the time of their split. Jennifer had asked for Sylvester Stallone to be prohibited from selling or spending their assets during their divorce proceedings. She also requested to be the only person to use their USD 35 million Palm Beach home. Regarding the same, Jennifer’s divorce attorney Randy Kessler said:
"Typically, we prepare a marital balance sheet and divide what is on there. If there has been such dissipation, we often add the dissipated assets as a line item. [The party accused of dissipation] may end up with much less of the assets which remain if the court thinks they gave away their share by dissipation."
Interestingly, just a month after filing for the divorce, the couple decided to get back together. A rep for Sylvester revealed that the actor and his wife “decided to meet back up at home, where they talked and were able to work out their differences.”
