The film has been titled Scandalous!; however, no details about further development have been announced. Apart from playing the role of Kim in the movie, Sydney reportedly also stepped in as a producer on the film.
To mention, the Euphoria actress grabbed attention with the biopic, Christy, for which she had to even gain 34 pounds. Given that she had another biopic, the audience was excited to witness Sydney's skills again through Scandalous! However, it was in March of this year, when Kim Novak made one such comment about Sydney, that it ended up bringing backlash for her. Kim Novak faced backlash for saying that Sydney Sweeney was 'totally wrong to play her role' in her biopic, Scandalous!
Speaking to The Times, Kim Novak voiced her disapproval of Sydney Sweeney playing her role in the movie. She also stated that she would never have approved the biopic itself. Notably, the movie's development has stalled, and the film focuses on the relationship between Kim Novak and Sammy Davis Jr.
Speaking to The Times, Kim Novak stated that Sydney Sweeney "is totally wrong" to play her. Novak added that Sydney Sweeney "sticks out so much above the waist", adding that she was worried that the movie would focus more on her and Sammy Davis Jr.'s sexual dynamic. Kim Novak shared that Sydney 'looks sexy all the time', and it's wrong for her to play the role. She could be quoted as saying:
"Sticks out so much above the waist...There’s no way it wouldn’t be a sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney looks sexy all the time. She was totally wrong to play me.”
Kim Novak had earlier talked about the title of the film and mentioned that she never thought that her relationship with Sammy Davis Jr. was 'scandalous'. She mentioned that he was someone she cared about and that they had a lot in common, including the fact that they needed to be accepted for what they were and how they were, rather than how they looked.

Speaking of Sydney, she told PEOPLE that she was incredibly honored to play the role of Kim Novak. Sydney revealed that she felt she could relate to Kim's story in different ways.
She added that it's relevant in today's industry as well, given how Kim Novak managed her image and private life and dealt with Hollywood and the scrutiny around her. During the same interview, Sydney also mentioned that while she didn't meet Kim Novak, she was excited for the same. Sydney could be quoted as saying:
"I think her story is still very relevant today in that she dealt with Hollywood and scrutiny with her relationships and her own private life and the control of her image. And I think that for me, I relate to it in a lot of different ways.”
Sydney Sweeney has been questioned multiple times about her bold screen presence. In her last project, Euphoria 3, she had some nude scenes as well as wild intimate ones, for which she had to face continuous questions. Speaking to W Magazine, Sydney said she doesn't really feel nervous about it, since she feels she owes everything to the character she's playing. Sydney further pointed out how male actors often are awarded when they appear without clothes on screen, and for an actress, it results in bullying.
