Television couple, Suyyash Rai and Kishwer Merchant are one such couple who broke all the barriers and became each other’s forever on December 16, 2016. They had met on the sets of Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani in 2011, and slowly fell in love. But, their beautiful fairytale was not a bed of roses as they had faced troubles in their relationship due to their huge 8 years age gap.
On the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 9, we saw the couple putting their relationship at stake but coming out stronger every time. Soon after realising that they are made for one another, they had sealed the deal. And on August 27, 2021, they entered the parenthood league for the first time with the arrival of a baby boy.
In a candid conversation with the ETimes, Suyyash Rai was asked about his difficult journey of turning from an actor into a full-fledged singer. Answering this, he said that it was tough as the decision was made when he had just got married to Kishwer Merchant. However, he added that the doting wife always supported him and asked him to go all out. In his words:
“It was a difficult transition to decide to not act anymore and do music. It was a leap of faith. Kishwer and I had just gotten married when I made this decision but she supported me and told me to go all out and give it my all. It was difficult initially but I had the faith and I kept doing it, and today, I am in a happier space and am sure the miracle and breakthrough will happen soon enough.”
In the same conversation, Suyyash was asked about the feeling of embracing fatherhood for the first time. To which, he said that fatherhood was the best thing ever for him which made him a better person in real life. He said:
“It has been the best thing to have happened to me. It has made me a better person. He is my Khilona and no matter how stressed I am, looking at him just makes me feel happy. The look on his face when he sees me and smiles is a beautiful journey.”
Further, Suyyash opened up and revealed who introduced him to the world of music and made him take this drastic step of switching careers. He said that not only one person but many people like his sister, his wife, Kishwer and his friends helped him discover the hidden singer behind him. But, it was only after Bigg Boss 9, that he took the profession seriously and started working on it. He stated:
“Not just one person but there are many people involved. My sister too introduced me to music, then my friends who used to make me sing at karaokes. I went to a party once with Kishwer's close friends and the Meet Brothers heard me sing at their party and walked up to me and said I should consider singing. After Bigg Boss, however, I took it seriously.”
We love how Kishwer supported her hubby, Suyyash the most when he wanted to switch his career! What about you?
