The world and Bollywood fraternity woke up today (January 08, 2019) to yet another shocking news of a Bollywood celebrity diagnosed with cancer. After Sonali Bendre, Irrfan Khan, Tahira Kashyap and Rishi Kapoor, it's Hrithik Roshan's father, Rakesh Roshan who has been diagnosed with cancer. A few weeks ago, Rakesh Roshan was found positive for an early stage of squamous cell carcinoma of the throat. Hrithik Roshan took to his official Instagram handle and shared the news by posting the following picture and captioning it, "Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. Love you Dad."
As soon as Hrithik shared the news, comments from many industry people started pouring in. The one comment which has attracted us has been dropped by Hrithik Roshan's ex-wife, Sussanne Khan. Commenting on her ex-father-in-law's cancer, Sussane had written, "He is the stronger than any superhero, all will go smoothly." Hrithik Roshan’s sister, Sunaina Roshan has earlier fought cancer and emerged victorious after fighting her cervical cancer in 2014. She once shared, “I want to inspire people across the globe. If the blog is a success maybe, I’ll think of a book and go on a show like Ted Talks. I want to tell people that I am a survivor and not a victim”.
Coming back to the Super 30 actor and his ex-wife, Sussanne Khan, the two had been married since December 20, 2000, but got separated in November 2014. Hrithik and Sussanne are often seen together, going out on dinner dates. A recent Deccan Chronicle report had claimed that two are planning to get back with each other. The report suggested, “Hrithik and Sussanne are working it out. They identified the stress areas in their relationship and are doing their best to work their way around them. But when a media person asked about the same to one of the members of the Roshan family, it was reported, "They are done with one another- to even suggest that they can be a couple again is ridiculous. They've agreed to meet and spend time together for their children's sake whenever they feel like it. Beyond their obligation as parents, both Hrithik and Sussanne have their own separate lives."
Sussanne Khan, too, once commented on the same and took to Twitter to write, “Like I always said, Hrithik and I are parents first and have to be in-sync regarding our priorities as parents in order to make sure our boys get the best upbringing. They are and always will be our main priority. So, the two of us having lunch with them doesn't mean we are holidaying together."
Sussanne’s father, Sanjay Khan's autobiography, The Best Mistakes of My Life was launched recently. At the event, when he was asked to comment on Sussanne and Hrithik's divorce, he said, "I love Hrithik still and I love my daughter. They must have their reasons. Fine. But the good part is, they’re still very good friends. And the children don’t feel the negative impact of their separation because of the combined efforts of both to keep it working. They holiday together, they take care of the children from time to time, babysitting and stuff. When people say that Hrithik is no longer my son-in-law, I say I have a relationship with him: he is the father of my grandchildren, and that can never be erased!
