As far as the late actor's dating life is concerned, Sushant had made his relationship with actress, Rhea Chakraborty Insta official on January 10, 2020, by taking to his Instagram handle and sharing a picture of Rhea. In the picture, Sushant had referred to his not-so-rumoured-anymore ladylove as ‘meri jalebi’ (a reference to Rhea’s last release, Jalebi). However, Sushant had deleted the post from his Instagram later. According to the latest update, writer-director, Rumi Jafry, in conversation with Mumbai Mirror revealed that the late actor had signed a movie starring him opposite his rumoured girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty. Rumi Jafry told Mumbai Mirror that had everything been normal, they would've started the shooting of the same in May 2020. The untitled rom-com was special in the sense that it would have given Sushant a platform to showcase his dancing skills. The director even had plans of making Sushant dance on the day of the muhurat. Jafry expressed, "A rom-com, it was to explore Sushant’s dancing skills. He was a fantastic dancer and my film would have showcased him in a different light. He loved Shah Rukh Khan’s acting and Govinda’s dance and that’s why I had a full-fledged dance number with Govinda-style moves planned for our mahurat."
Jafry further hinted that now that Sushant is no more, the movie might never hit the floor as it was written for Sushant, keeping him in mind. In his words, "I may never make it; it was written keeping Sushant in mind." The filmmaker also went on to throw some light on the untouched aspects of the actor's life and emphasised on the fact that Sushant didn't have 'too many friends in the industry'. Unfazed by that, the actor was passionate about his work. Jafry also said that SSR was reading the script during the lockdown and 'was looking forward to a joint narration.' Sushant was also looking forward to starting work soon but the lockdown was postponing his plans. "He would get upset because he wanted to get back to work and rehearse," Rumi said.
The director also revealed that the day he learned about Sushant's former manager, Disha Salian's passing away, he had texted Sushant and had urged him to 'take care.' "He replied with four hearts and ‘love you sir’, promising to catch up soon," Rumi further revealed. As far as his alleged girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty is concerned, according to reports she was living with him during the lockdown and has left for her place just a day before his suicide. The actress was amongst the first from Bollywood to reach hospital to be with his mortal remains, looking clearly devastated.
In the latest development, if the reports published in News 18 are to be believed, Rhea and Sushant were living together during the lockdown and he had sent Rhea back to her home just a day before taking this drastic step. The report further states that the police will now interrogate the actress as they want to know the details of their relationship, and the reason for his depression. We only hope and pray that our beloved star finds the peace he was looking for!
