Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput's family has filed an FIR with Bihar police against his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty for abetment to suicide and mental and financial harassment of the actor, new revelations are seeing the light, making the case even more complex with each passing day. According to the Mumbai police, statements of around 40 people are recorded in the probe of SSR's alleged suicide up till now, including filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt, film critic, Rajeev Masand, director-producer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, filmmaker, Aditya Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput's cook, Neeraj Singh, domestic help, Keshav Bachner, manager, Deepesh Sawant, creative manager, Siddharth Ramnathmurti Pithani, sisters, Neetu and Meetu Singh, television actor, Mahesh Shetty (SSR's best friend), casting director, Mukesh Chhabra and many more. FYI, the night before the incident, Sushant Singh Rajput had made two calls, one to his close friend, Mahesh Shetty and the other to girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty but none of them had picked his calls. Later, Mahesh had called back, but Sushant hadn't answered. In one of his earlier interviews, Mahesh Shetty had expressed if only he would've picked his call at that time, Sushant might have been between us.
After being interrogated by Mumbai police and recording his statement, Sushant Singh Rajput's best friend, Mahesh Shetty has now made some shocking revelations in his recent statement to Bihar Police. For those who don't know, Mahesh Shetty was the first one to enter Sushant Singh Rajput's room after his suicide. As per the latest reports pouring in, based on some shocking revelations made by him, plus him being the first one to enter the room, Bihar Police are planning to turn him into a prime witness in the whole case. A source from Bihar police has told CNN News 18 that they are planning to make his close friend, Mahesh Shetty a prime witness in the case.
The CNN report also stated that when Mahesh was questioned about Sushant, he told the cops that he had asked Sushant to speak to his parents, but Sushant had told him Rhea would not allow him to do that. He also mentioned that Rhea would check SSR's phone constantly and she, along with her mother, had wanted to change Sushant's entire team, and he was unhappy about it.
In another twist, according to Mumbai Mirror, one of Sushant Singh Rajput's other friend, Siddharth Pithani had earlier revealed that he's being pressurised by Sushant's family to speak against Rhea Chakraborty. Pithani had also sent an email to Mumbai Police alleging the same on July 28, 2020. According to Mumbai Mirror, quotes from Pithani's email can be read as "I was told I would receive a phone call, after which I received a call from an unknown WhatsApp number. But the call ended within 40 secs, and no statement was recorded. I am pressurised to comply and record statements against Rhea, the things which I am not aware of." On the other hand, Rhea Chakraborty had applied at the Supreme Court for the transfer of Sushant's case from Patna police to Mumbai and had said in her petition that she is in deep trauma due to her boyfriend's suicide which got multiplied with the death and rape threats and the constant media scrutiny on her. She added in her plea, "In peculiar facts and circumstances of the present case, the petitioner has been falsely implicated in the present case filed by at the instance of Krishna Kishore Singh. He committed suicide on the morning of June 14 at his Bandra residence by hanging himself. The petitioner was summoned and she had visited the Bandra police station on various occasions and her statement was recorded under Section 175 of CrPC. The petitioner has filed a complaint at Santa Cruz police station in Mumbai against the death and rape threats. It would be just and expedient, if the transfer of the case is directed from Patna to Mumbai."
