Child artist and lifestyle blogger, Jhanak Shukla is the daughter of seasoned actress, Supriya Shukla and her husband, Haril Shukla. Jhanak is known for her superhit roles in the 90s television show, Karishma Ka Karishma. Afterwards, the grey-eyed girl was seen in TV shows and films, including Son Pari, Kal Ho Naa Ho and One Night With The King. Following this, Jhanak took a break from acting at 15 to focus on her studies. Now, Jhanak's mommy, Supriya opened up about certain anecdotes from Jhanak's education and acting life.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Supriya Shukla revealed her daughter, Jhanak Shukla was only 5-6 years old when she did her first show, Karishma Kaa Karishma. For the unversed, the celeb child was an ardent fan of the American children's comedy science fiction sitcom, Small Wonder. Later, the child herself became a household name with her stint as a robot from the American sitcom's remake, Karishma Kaa Karishma. However, she was so small then that her mother had to make her learn the lines by heart. Supriya shared:
"Jhanak was a big fan of Small Wonder. She used to do ads but when the call for Karishma Ka Karishma came, me and her father felt this is not the time as she was so young. She was just 5-6. She couldn't even read properly and I had to tell her the lines and that's how she would learn. It was a weekly show but we had made a strict contract in which she had out time in the evenings so that she could play."

For the uninitiated, Jhanak has quit acting at the age of 15. It happened when Jhanak did a film with Irrfan Khan, titled Deadline: Sirf 24 Ghante and the film didn't make it to the theatres, she shifted her focus to her studies. Eventually, she didn't return to acting anymore. Now, she is pursuing M.Sc in Marketing from Dublin Business School in Ireland. So, in the same conversation, Supriya revealed how Jhanak's love for archaeology shifted her focus from acting to academics. Elaborating more on this, Supriya added:
"So much work was pouring in but my husband and I felt that this is not the time for all this and she needs to get an education. She could choose anything after finishing her education. I am a part of this profession and I have really enjoyed the journey. But she was much attracted to archaeology and history, so she pursued an MA in Archaeology from Deccan College in Pune and followed it with an MBA. She is now pursuing M.Sc in Marketing from Dublin Business School. She was more interested in education than acting. You should pursue what you love to do. Children and their thought process should be left alone."
Further, Supriya shared how her family is academically bright and it was only she who turned her acting hobby into her profession. The entire family understands the importance of education. Moreover, Jhanak's father is an engineer. Thus, this love for studies in the family atmosphere, made Jhanak oriented towards academics over acting. And while mentioning 'touchwood', the doting mother also revealed how her daughter used to excel in her studies. Supriya revealed:
"We all were academically bright. Acting was a hobby and I made it my profession. I personally feel, basic education will only benefit you, even if you don't make a career out of it. It gives you a sane mind, and to think rationally. You learn how to talk, you know how to deal with people. I have seen people who behave very weirdly after getting fame. If you are educated, your thought process is different. You give respect to people who are not on the same ladder."

It was on January 7, 2023, when Jhanak Shukla made her relationship official with the man of her dreams, Swapnil Suryawanshi after their roka ceremony. She took to her IG handle and delighted her fans by sharing one of the happiest news of her life, which happened just before she left for higher studies in Ireland. In the pictures she shared, she can be seen sitting with her fiance, Swapnil. For the intimate family affair, Jhanak opted for a pink-hued kurta-pyjama paired with a contrasting mustard-hued dupatta.
