Govinda's wife, Sunita, shared how Diwali has changed over the years
Diwali brings back childhood memories, and while we try celebrating the festival differently each year while keeping the old rituals intact, nostalgia often engulfs us. Reflecting on how Diwali was celebrated earlier in her house, Sunita Ahuja revealed that it was a beautiful time. But things have changed, and her home feels empty.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sunita said her family memories and her house were filled with relatives and children during the festival. But over the years, things changed, and everyone is occupied with their own lives. She revealed that her mother-in-law's passing and her children growing up have changed everything. She said:
"Pehle jab Diwali hoti thi, toh mera ghar bhara-bhara rehta tha. Ghar mein saas hoti thi, bhanje aur bachche hote the. Khoob chahal-pahal rehti thi, lekin ab bachche bade ho gaye hain aur saas bhi nahi hain. Isliye ab ghar soona-soona lagta hai. Main bachchon se yeh nahi keh sakti ki tum ghar par hi raho. Sabhi apni-apni zindagi mein vyast hain aur aap kisi ko disturb bhi nahi kar sakte."
Sunita further added that she has now started to celebrate the festival on her own by lighting diyas and eating sweets, but since she is diabetic, she doesn't consume much. She said:
"Ab main akele hi apni khushiyan bana leti hoon. Ghar mein diye jalati hoon aur mithai khati hoon. Diabetes hai, isliye soch-samajhkar khati hoon, lekin apni Diwali enjoy karti hoon."
However, during her remark about changing dynamics at home, Sunita did not talk about her estranged husband, Govinda. She also talked about her first Diwali after marriage and revealed that her mother-in-law gifted her a beautiful saree and a gold set.
However, joking about her husband's gifting habits now, Sunita said that Govinda had become a little miserly over the years. She added that her husband, Govinda, doesn't gift her much as their wedding is old now. The couple got secretly married on May 11, 1987. Their first daughter was born on July 16, 1989, and after her birth, Govinda revealed about his wedding to the world. Sunita and Govinda were later blessed with their son.
Earlier, in an interaction with Sarish Media, Sunita stated that she did not want to comment on Govinda or his co-star. She stated that she doesn't want to say anything about him. She stated that she knows he is happy and wishes him the best. Sunita also added that he should live life as he wants.
It is worth adding that Sunita's reaction surfaced after Komal shared a lengthy post about her. Komal reacted to the allegations levied against her by Sunita. She stated that she is not a homebreaker, as it was already a broken home. Komal also alleged that Sunita has been trying to kill her husband for years.
Komal further stated that it was Sunita's plan to constantly harass a man so that he would stop working, be forced to sit at home, and waste away. She stated that Sunita had driven Govinda to the point of death. Komal called Sunita 'too clever'
