Popular actress, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi is a big name in the Indian film industry as, over the years, she has worked in numerous mega-budget movies. The actress had kick-started her acting journey with the television series, Chunauti, when she was just 12 years old. After which, she had worked as a model during nineties and had made her acting debut in the Hindi film industry with the iconic film, Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa, opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Deepak Tijori. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi opened up about her personal life and answered some of the most-asked questions from her fans on the internet. From talking about her marriage and divorce with her ex-husband and filmmaker, Shekhar Kapur, to opening up about the way how their daughter, Kaveri had put her on a dating site after their divorce, Suchitra unfolded many surprising revelations about her personal life. When the actress was asked to describe how it feels to be a single parent, Suchitra admitted that although she is quite modern and rebellious in nature, she hinted at the need to have a partner. She said:
"I am a single parent so I was very conscious that I did not want something frivolous, because no matter how modern and rebellious I am, but somewhere I am very conservative about certain aspects of my life."
Going further in the conversation, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi opened up about the friendly bond that she shares with her daughter, Kaveri Kapur. The doting mother heaped immense praises on her daughter for always having her back and for being her loudest cheerleader. Not only this, but Suchitra also added that it was her daughter, Kaveri, who had made her profile on a dating site and had convinced her that she needed to be there. She also added that her doting daughter has even suggested she go on some dates. However, Suchitra admitted that after doing it once for her happiness, the actress is very much convinced that she's great all on her own. She explained:
"My daughter Kaveri put me on a dating site some time back. I promised her that so I said okay. I got so bored and told her bachha this is not my scene. She registered my name and put my profile, then she insisted that I go on some dates. I told her that I did it for your sake, now I can't do it and I am fine on my own."

In the end of the interview, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi talked about her marriage and divorce from her ex-husband, Shekhar Kapur. The actress shared that she was a teenager when the duo had got married in 1997. Despite welcoming a daughter, Kaveri Kapur, in their lives, the once much-in-love couldn't cope with the irreconcilable issues in their married life. Hence, it was in 2006 when Suchitra and Shekhar had got divorced. Recalling the same, Suchitra added that after her divorce from Shekhar, she had dated someone for a year, and no one was aware of it. However, soon, cracks had started appearing in their relationship, and she had parted ways with him. Opening up about the same, she said:
"I met my husband when I was a teenager and post my divorce I had one relationship that lasted one year. Thankfully nobody knows about it. I have been very conservative in how I share my energies in the world. I was very particular to not expose Kaveri (daughter) to that."
On the professional front, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi was last seen in the film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
