Being towards the darker side of skin tone, doesn’t necessitate for bright palatte. Keep it subtle, warm and elegant. Opt for orange, peach or pink colour palettes. It will keep the make up warm and eccentric. Also it will prevent you from looking jaded.
Opt for a liquid foundation rather than a cream one so that it doesn’t make you skin oily. Use a water based foundation. Subhash asserts that the foundation should not be lighter than your skin tone. Apply the foundation meticulously as, if not blended well with skin, patches appear on a dark skin. Do use a concealer if you have blemishes or spots on your skin. Make sure that it is blended properly or else it might give a very patched up appearance to the bride.
Keep the colour of your face powder on the lighter side. Avoid using them in excess. This adds sheen to your skin giving a very smooth appearance. Don’t use too much powder around your eyes. They give a gaudy feel. Dust off excess powder if any.
Subhash suggests that the blush on cheeks, chin and forehead should be of lighter tone. But the blush type will vary as per the nature of the skin. If its oily, use powder blush and for dry skin, cream blushes are preferable. Choose the colour carefully or else it might alter the skin tone. Select dark shades and avoid pinks.
For people with dark complexion, eyes are the asset. Highlight it with a right kind of make up. Apply eye liner on the upper eyelids and a thin layer of kajal on the lower lids. This brings out the eyes and makes it prominent. You can opt for golden eye make up or a blue one.
Use highlight for your make up. They gel really well with brides with dusky complexion. Use golden highlights for nose bridges, above the cheekbones, around the eye area and above the lower lips.
Subhash reprimands dusky bride from going in for dark shades of lip colors or equally light shades. Apply pink on your lips. They complement dusky tones. Outline your pink lips with brown lipliner to get a ravishing look. Lipsticks with matte finish are the one that will suit a dusky bride. If your lips are dark, apply foundation or powder on it before colouring it with a lipcolor.
