Steve Guttenberg finalised his divorce from his wife, Emily Guttenberg, after seven years of marital bliss. The couple met on a blind date. It was Emily's colleague at WCBS-TV, Scott Rapoport, who set the duo up. The couple started dating and fell in love with each other, with their engagement taking place in 2016. In 2025, Steve filed for a divorce, and in May 2026, it was finalised. Us Weekly recently obtained the court documents and revealed that the duo entered into a settlement agreement in March 2026. The court documents recently revealed the settlements that took place between the ex-couple.
As per the court documents, obtained by TMZ, Steve Guttenberg will pay USD 700K as spousal support to his ex-wife, Emily. According to the documents, he will be keeping all his assets to himself, including his clothing, jewellery, watches and other personal assets, along with earnings before, during, and post his separation with Emily. He will also be able to have full access to his assets and all residuals, 16 accounts and earnings from films.

To mention, Steve and Emily have a property in the Pacific Palisades, which Steve will be keeping as a judgment; however, Emily is allowed to visit, as a part of inspecting her property, or to arrange for the property to be moved into a storage facility. Speaking of Emily, she will have access to all her cars and earnings from before, during, and after their marriage and after their separation. If there's a joint account of the couple, then it will be divided equally between the couple. To mention, Emily, who is a journalist, signed a prenup in 2018 before her wedding to Steve Guttenberg.

Emily will have access to her bank accounts, and also a few cars. Now, coming to what Steve will have to pay to his ex-wife, as per the court documents, he will be providing a lease payment on Emily’s 2024 BMW X3, as well as monthly insurance premiums for the lease. Reportedly, the actor will also have to pay for his ex-wife's stay in a luxurious hotel, where she currently resides. Reportedly, it's worth USD 2K daily, and along with this, Steve will also have to pay USD 5K for daily expenses as of now till July 1, 2026, until she gets a new apartment. According to the court documents:
"For so long as [Emily] continues to reside at the Ritz Carlton … the incidental charges [she] incurs shall be paid by [Steve’s credit] card up to USD 2,000 per month. He will continue to allow [his ex] to charge on his [credit] card up to USD 5,000 per month until she vacates the Ritz Carlton and is living in an apartment.”

Steve Guttenberg and Emily met on a blind date, which was set by her colleague. The duo started dating, and after Christmas back in 2016, the couple got engaged. A year later, in an interview with The Daily Beast, Steve Guttenberg revealed that Emily makes him a better person, and he had to up his game when he stayed around her.

Speaking more about her, Steve gushed and mentioned that Emily is a classy lady who makes his home 'a home'. Steve seemed so much in love as he kept on praising his then-fiancée, sharing about her value, humour and integrity. She could be quoted as saying:
“I don’t want to give these things a jinx, but she makes me a better person, which I really like. I have to up my game around her. She’s a very classy lady. She creates a wonderful home, her value system is terrific, and her character and integrity, and sense of humor … she’s a really nice lady.”
