The entire nation was shocked when Indian actor, Dhanush and his wife, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, announced their separation on January 17, 2022. Since then, the fans have been wondering what went wrong in the couple's beautiful marriage of eighteen years. After the ex-couple shared the news of their split, Aishwaryaa's sister, Soundarya Rajinikanth, supported her.
For the unversed, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa had tied the knot in the year 2004 after dating for six months. They have two sons, Yatra Raja (15-year-old) and Linga Raja (10-year-old). The news of the couple's separation has come as a shock to their fans and family.

On January 18, 2022, Aishwaryaa's sister, Soundarya, took to her Twitter handle and posted a priceless childhood picture. In the photo, we can see Soundarya and Aishwaryaa hugging their father, Rajinikanth. Sharing it, Soundarya wrote:

On January 17, 2022, Aishwaryaa had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a long note announcing her separation from Dhanush. Aishwaryaa had bared her heart out on how difficult it was for them in the message. Alongside it, she had written:
"No caption needed…only your understanding n your love necessary!"

Dhanush had also announced the same on his Twitter handle. He had shared the note, which could be read as:
"18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting... Today we stand at a place where our paths separate... Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better.
