The couple took the wedding vows in a starry and grand affair in an Anand Karaj ceremony that took place in the presence of all near and dear ones. All of Sonam’s fans went mad, so much so that her wedding was trending on social media. Giving a pleasant surprise to everyone and putting all the rumours at the bay, both the families released an official statement of the wedding early in May 2018. The official statement could be read as, "The Kapoor and Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives." Most of us know that Sonam and Anand have not been on their honeymoon yet. And in fact, right after two days of their wedding, Sonam flew to Cannes to attend the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2018. After almost two months after their blissful wedding day, Sonam has shared Anand’s reaction when she told him about attending Cannes. Sonam shared an unseen picture from their wedding and captioned it, “Anand is so encouraging when it comes to my work that he didn’t blink when I told him I was flying to Cannes two days after the wedding or that I was getting into promotions straightaway. And then there is another unseen picture that Sonam Kapoor Ahuja shared on her official Instagram handle. In the caption, she revealed her first date with Anand. Here’s what the caption could be read as, “Recalling my first date “I was apparently wearing the worst sneakers he had ever seen. I keep telling him that he fell in love with me despite my bad sneaker game... While Sonam shared the pics in different posts, Anand S Ahuja posted in a single go with a heart-warming caption, which is a poem by Rumi. Sonam had gifted the best thing to Anand on their wedding and that is a set of a few poems. In an interview with Simi Garewal earlier, Sonam had said, “I have written quite a few poems but there was this one poem that I wrote when I was around 16 years old. It is called Ambition. I had promised myself that as soon as I find the person that I'm going to be with, I'm going to give him that poem. The day I get married, the poem will be with that man and I'll say that this is what I want my life to be like and hopefully, we can work together towards this”.
