New Year brings in with a lot of hopes and aspirations. From taking new year resolutions to kick-starting the year in an exotic location, everyone is taking efforts to mark the beginning of the year with a bang. The entire Bollywood was busy as they celebrated and partied to welcome New Year. While celebs are posting love-filled wishes on social media, we can’t stop gushing over their droolworthy pictures and Bollywood diva, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her hubby, Anand S Ahuja are not far behind. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand S Ahuja are the most sought-after couple of Bollywood. Rumours of the much-in-love couple had been doing rounds during their dating days but Sonam had never accepted that she was in a relationship and had always refuted the speculations. The two had taken their love to the next level and had tied the knot on May 8, 2018. From long-distance love to now long-distance marriage, the duo has been giving major couple goals. From Diwali, Christmas to New Year, they never miss an opportunity to travel miles to be with each other.
On January 1, 2020, Sonam thanked everyone for a wonderful past year and wished all her fans on New Year. She took to Instagram and posted a Boomerang with her hubby, Anand. In the Boomerang, the much-in-love couple kissed their way to welcome New Year 2020. Along with the Boomerang, she posted a long note, which could be read as “This past decade has been the most brilliant. I’ve acted in some incredible movies where I’ve met some amazing people who’ve become lifelong friends. I’ve made three films with @rheakapoor and realised that sisters make the best partners and can break glass Ceilings together with our films and sartorial choices And taken our passion for fashion and started @wearerheson. I met my soulmate @anandahuja and got married to him and built a home together. But most of all this decade has taught me that life has many paths and the only path that one should take is the one paved with the right intentions. Thank you to my family and friends, thank you to films and fashion. You make me whole. May love lead your way!”
Sonam was at peak of her career when she had tied the knot with Anand. In an interview with the DNA, she had opened up on the same and had revealed that marriage has nothing to do with her professional commitments. She quoted examples of Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Nargis, Nutan and other married actresses, who had continued with their career post marriage. In an interview with the Vogue magazine, Sonam had talked about her love story with Anand and had quipped, “He makes clothes—and I wear them!” She had further added, “He comes from a business background, so that’s alien to me. I’m the third generation in a film family. So there’s a lot to talk about, a lot to discover about each other, but we have a lot of similarities.” Sonam had also shared the qualities of her husband and had said, “He’s non-judgemental—with everybody. Very open-minded and progressive. I’m a little conservative and close-minded about a few things, and he’s taught me to see the other side, to look at things with a lot more compassion and care, to be a little more pragmatic and practical, as I can be very emotional and quick to judge sometimes, which is not nice”
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand S Ahuja are a perfect example of balancing a long-distance relationship and now marriage. In an interview with the Filmfare magazine, Anand had shared how their long-distance relationship works and had said, “When it comes to marriage, small things matter a lot. We eat meals together, even if we are in different time zones, on Skype.
