Over the years, there have been many rumours related to the personal lives of celebrities. Be it their secret wedding rumour or having a love child, Bollywood’s never-ending rumours have always garnered a lot of limelight. One such strange rumour is yesteryear actress Reena Roy being Sonakshi Sinha’s real mother and the reason behind the same is Reena Roy and Sonakshi Sinha’s striking features.
Reena Roy’s affair with Shatrughan Sinha was quite popular in the 70s and 80s. The duo had met each other for the first time on the sets of Kaalicharan. They became good friends and eventually fell in love. In 1981, when Shatrughan married Poonam, it gave the biggest shock to Reena, however, even after his wedding, he continued his affair with Reena. Reena didn’t want to be Shatrughan’s second choice and the two decided to part ways.

It was in 2010, when Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, Sonakshi Sinha made her Bollywood debut in the film, Dabangg. Soon after her debut film, there were comparisons made between Sonakshi and Reena’s uncanny resemblance. Sonakshi’s similar facial features to Reena turned into the rumours of her being Shatrughan Singha and Reena Roy’s love child.
In a throwback interview, when Reena Roy was asked about Sonakshi’s striking features to her, the actress gave a befitting reply and shared how the industry is filled with these baseless rumours. Talking about the same, she had stated:
“Sonakshi doesn’t look like me but like her mother Poonam Sinha. When I worked in the film Zakhti, I was also called the daughter of Asha Parekh and Nasir Hussain. Dimple was said to be the daughter of Nargis. This cycle continues in the film industry. It ends after a few days.”

Not just Reena Roy, but Sonakshi Sinha too denied her resemblance to Reena Roy. In an interview with a leading lady, Sonakshi opened up about the same and stated:
“I feel I look like my mom Poonam Sinha.”
In the same interview, she also talked about her father’s affair with Reena Roy and had revealed that it is his past and she won’t crucify him for the same. In her words:
“I think it happened when I was not even born. I found out when I was growing up and started understanding things. But I'm not going to crucify my father for something he did years back. It is his past. And everybody has a past. So I don't think too much about it. Nor do I pay attention to it. Like I said, it just makes really good headlines and juicy gossip to some people. But for me, this is my family.”
