Sidharth Shukla’s demise has come as a huge shock for the entire nation and our heart goes out to his family and alleged girlfriend, Shehnaaz Gill. The actor had felt pain and had asked his mother for water before sleeping and couldn’t wake up in the morning as he suffered a heart attack. When doctors had reached his venue around midnight, he was found with no pulse. While he was a gem of a person, we cannot stop thinking about his alleged ladylove, Shehnaaz Gill, who had always found support in him.
For the unversed, the ‘angry young man’, Sidharth Shukla had met self-proclaimed Punjabi ki Katrina Kaif, Shehnaaz Gill during their stint in Bigg Boss 13. Shehnaaz had fallen head-over-heels in love with the winner of the reality show. We all could totally imagine Shehnaaz saying Deepika Padukone’s dialogue “Mujhe tumse se pyaar ho jaega…. Phir se! Aur tumhe nahi hoga…. Phir se!” from the film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Shehnaaz was always after him, doing cute antics to catch his attention, and even after two years to the show, their bond was still fresh.

Neither Sidharth nor Shehnaaz had confirmed their relationship, but the late actor had always defended and supported the bubbly actress. A few days before his untimely death, Sidharth Shukla had stepped up to defend his alleged ladylove, Shehnaaz Gill. In a Twitter war, when his fandom was fighting with Shehnaaz’s fandom, a user had tweeted, "Shehnaaz Gill shame on you and your fans!! Have some courage #shehnaazgill for taking firm stand for your fans."
Sidharth had come out in her support, asking people not to shame her. Sidharth had tweeted, "Please you don’t need to shame her … it’s not her fault it’s some ppl from that FD …she herself has asked them to stop all this like I have … let’s just be civil and make this place better … so that we can enjoy and learn from each other … makes sense."
In another Twitter war, Sidharth Shukla had again supported his alleged girlfriend, Shehnaaz Gill. One Bollywood pap page had shared Shehnaaz Gill’s cute video on their Twitter handle and had tweeted, "Honestly a very cute effort by #shehnaazgill but wish it was shot on a better phone."
Well, the comment wasn’t made to troll Shehnaaz, but Sidharth had still decided to take a stand for his ‘friend’ and had asked the pap page to pull the video down if they did not like it. He had tweeted, “Bhai now that your concerns about a friend ... let me just politely put it to your knowledge it’s was shot on the best possible phone ....for her fans ... if you didn’t like it why did you up it."
Sidharth taking a stand for Shehnaaz had created a wave of happiness in their fans. While some had hailed Sidharth for supporting Shehnaaz and had commented, “Really need to do some kind of tapasya to get a friend like you in my life Sidharth Is Ideal Your Second name? Often the wedding reports of Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill used to make it to the headlines. Earlier, Filmibeat had reported that the couple had a court marriage in December 2020. Their source had added that they were not opening up about their dating as it might impact their careers.
In a Twitter interaction, Sidharth Shukla had opened up on these reports and had revealed that he was not married. When a fan had asked Sidharth to reply to him as his girlfriend will only marry him when the actor replies to her and he doesn’t want to stay kunwara, the actor had replied how kunwara tag is better. He had tweeted:
“Bhai Kunwara tag acha hai ... main tho kunwara hoon fir bhi kuch media walo ne shadi shuda karar kar diya hai ... maybe they know more than I do about me.”
Though Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill had never confirmed their relationship, their fans had always wished to see ‘Sidnaaz’ (as fondly called by them) together. It was in an interview with The Times Of India when Shehnaaz had accepted her love for Sidharth and had also accepted the fact that she is afraid of losing him, so she is okay being friends with him. She had said:
"Initially I used to feel bad and get hurt, but I have understood that I don't want to lose him at any cost. I love him a lot, but he considers me as a very close friend."
After her stint in Bigg Boss 13, Shenaaz Gill had talked in length about her equation with Sidharth Shukla. In an interview with Spotboye, Shehnaaz was asked about her relationship with Sidharth, to which she had responded:
“Yes I am in a relationship with Sidharth but as a friend. I had said that I love him. And, he's protective about me. As he's protective, I am not waiting to hear 'I love you' from him. He's a very good friend of mine and I don't want to lose him as a friend. Waise, love relationships kahan chalte hain aajkal long time ke liye?”
When she was asked about her attraction towards Bigg Boss 13’s winner, Sidharth Shukla, Shehnaaz had replied saying:
“Attraction hai, pyaar bhi hai lekin agar udhar se aisa nahin mila, toh I don't want to lose such a good friend like Sidharth. We can remain as friends forever, it is not necessary to get into a relationship.”
On the other hand, Sidharth Shukla had always maintained that he and Shehnaaz were ‘good friends’. When Sidharth Shukla had entered Bigg Boss 14 as a toofani senior along with Gauahar Khan and Hina Khan, in an episode he had indirectly talked about his equation with Shehnaaz Gill. Sidharth had expressed that there was no girl, who could impress him this time in the Bigg Boss house.
Hinting at his equation with Shehnaaz Gill, Gauahar Khan had asked him about the things that he likes in a girl.
