As of now, it is believed that his removal is permanent, with no chance of him coming back.
Sources close to the band have confirmed that Sid was notified of his dismissal on July 31, 2026. Now, amid this, the focus has also shifted to Sid’s former relationship with Kelly Osbourne, as the news comes just months after his breakup from his ex-fiancée.

One of the red flags that went unnoticed in Sid Wilson and Kelly Osbourne's relationship is undoubtedly their age gap. While an age gap might matter less to people as they grow older, it is worth noting that when Sid and Kelly first met, the latter was just 13 years old. On the other hand, Sid was seven years older than her. During an episode of The Osbournes Podcast in 2024, Kelly commented, “And I think we only ever saw each other as kids…We were just friends.”
As per Kelly, Sid only began having feelings for her when they began spending more time together and hanging out more around 2013. At the time, she was in her 20s, and he was in his 30s. They took the next step in their relationship about a decade later.
While speaking on the same podcast, Kelly confessed that the age gap between her and Sid was too big not to acknowledge. There have been speculations in the media that this might be one of the reasons that she chose to feign ignorance of the romantic interest Sid Wilson had in her, while focusing more on her own transformation over the years.
Reportedly, things between Kelly and Sid changed when the latter invited her to one of his concerts. This was in 2020. She said:
"And I went to the show, still had no idea that he liked me, and then we just started talking more and hanging out more, and it just happened really naturally."
For those who don't know, Sid and Kelly got engaged in early July 2025. After eight months, they quietly split up in March 2026. According to a source, while they appeared like a happy couple in public, they had been dealing with a lot behind closed doors. Eventually, the couple decided to end things for good rather than force their relationship forward.

While a source revealed to TMZ that Sid is “officially out” of the band, neither Slipknot nor the DJ have issued an official statement confirming or denying his reported departure. Additionally, the reason behind his alleged firing also remains unclear.
Social media users also have varying opinions on Sid Wilson’s removal from Slipknot. One user took to Reddit and wrote, “I’m pretty sure you could replace everyone in this band, and no one would know the difference. Benefits of wearing scary masks all the time.” Another wrote, “I'm guessing a drug problem or ego. Otherwise I'm not sure why he would be kicked.” Meanwhile, a fan defended Sid and wrote:
“He kind of was, at least back in the day. He’d go out into the crowd and throw down with people who would touch him, full on throwing hands. He broke both of his feet once, jumping from one part of the stage back down to his turntables. As much as everyone is joking about ‘you can just replace any member and throw a mask on them’, Sid’s influence on their sound can’t be denied. I wonder if they’ll even try to replace him.”
