Shweta Tiwari's Estranged Husband Abhinav Kohli Admitted To Slapping Her, 'I Had Already Apologised'

Shweta Tiwari’s estranged husband, Abhinav Kohli has grabbed attention recently after he penned a heartfelt wish for the actress on their 13th wedding anniversary. For the unversed, Shweta and Abhinav have been separated since 2019, after the actress filed for a domestic violence case against him.

Shweta Tiwari married Abhinav Kohli in 2013 after getting divorce from her first husband, Raja Chaudhary, with who she shares a daughter, Palak Tiwari. Soon after her second marriage with Abhinav, the couple welcomed their son, Reyansh. However, in 2017, there were rumours of a marital discord between Shweta and Abhinav, which the couple denied initially.

However, in 2019, the actress filed a complaint against Abhinav for domestic violence. Later, in an interview with SpotboyE, Abhinav spoke about the charges filed by Shweta on him and revealed that the issue began when Shweta’s daughter, Palak, from her first marriage, asked Abhinav to leave the house. The incident led into a major clash between him and Shweta.

In the interview, Abhinav admitted slapping Shweta and apologising later for his act. The actor also stated that it only happened once and that he was not a ‘wife beater’. Elaborating on the same, Abhinav revealed:

“I have never beaten Shweta apart from that slap which Palak herself has mentioned in that open letter. And I had already apologised for that slap to both of them. This whole thing is just a confusion created by Shweta just to prove that I subjected her to domestic violence which is not true. I have never been a woman beater.”

Going further in the interview, Abhinav also pointed towards an incident when he was beaten up by Shweta Tiwari with a stick. The actor stated that the incident dated back to 2017 when after a fight with the actress, he was separated from their son, Reyaansh for three months. When he tried to meet him, Shweta stopped him.

Abhinav also accused Shweta of hitting him, which left a black mark below his eyes. Stating how no one came to his rescue, Abhinav said:

“She has hit me and when she did that to me nobody came to know as I didn't go to the media and said anything or ran away from my child which she has been doing. From 2017, I have been suffering because of all this but I never spoke about it. You hit me, used your daughter to put a wrong allegation on me who was brought up by this very man, created a wrong image in front of the world."

For the unversed, Shweta Tiwari has been a victim of domestic violence in both her marriages to Raja Chaudhary and Abhinav Kohli. The actress, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, blamed her choice in men for her condition. She also blamed herself for the plight of her children, Palak and Reyansh, who have endured trauma in their childhood.

The actress stated that her daughter, Palak has seen her getting beaten up when she was just six years old. She also pointed how her then four-year-old son, Reyansh knew about police, judge and other judiciaries. Blaming herself, Shweta, in her interview stated that her children have endured the trauma because she wasn’t bold enough to take the right step.
