People were stuck in traffic jams while going towards the wedding venue, but to their saviour, celebrity weddings updates made them glued to their phones and saved them from getting bored. From Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal, Kapil Sharma-Ginni Chatrath to Parul Chauhan-Chirag Thakkar, Raghu Ram-Natalie, a lot of B-town and tinsel town celebs tied the knot yesterday. Amongst them Makdee fame, Shweta Basu Prasad is all set to tie the knot with long-time beau filmmaker, Rohit Mittal on December 13, 2018. Apparently, the wedding will take place as per Bengali and Marwadi rituals. The pre-wedding rituals are going on for Shweta and Rohit in full swing and their families are pampering the bride-to-be to the fullest. Shweta, who is a Bengali, began her pre-wedding festivities with Aiburobhat, which is a Bengali bridal shower. The actress looked pretty in a traditional red-border Bengali saree. Looks like Shweta will be wearing Sabyasachi for her wedding, courtesy her Instagram post. Take a look:
December 11, 2018, witnessed the mehendi ceremony of Shweta and Rohit, wherein the to-be bride can be seen swaying to the beats while the mehendi is being applied on her legs. She is looking prettiest in a pink Benarasi saree. The couple also had a pool party organised at The Grand Hyatt, Pune. They also had a grand engagement party in the evening of December 12, 2018. Shweta also had a fun-filled bachelorette trip with her friends in Bali and sharing a group picture from the same, she wrote, “The picture is a little blur, but you get it! Thank you @surmittal for these T-shirts, my sister-in-law AND bridesmaid. What a unique friend you are!” Sharing a glimpse of the moment when they began the trip, Shweta wrote, “Let. The. Confirming her dating news, Shweta Basu Prasad was once quoted as saying, "Okay. Yes, we are dating and it’s been almost two years. We are in a happy space and enjoying our relationship. We haven’t thought about marriage but yes it’s going smooth. I met Rohit at Phantom Films and that’s how it all started." It is the filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap who played the cupid between Shweta and Rohit. Anurag has been constantly guiding Rohit in directing techniques. A source had earlier revealed, “Anurag, who had been guiding Rohit in filmmaking techniques, introduced him to Shweta. They hit it off right from the word ‘Go’. They are very serious about each other, but want to focus on their careers right now.” The source also added, “Though the feeling was mutual, it was Shweta who proposed to Rohit in Goa first. He then proposed to her in Pune (his hometown). While marriage is on the cards, the couple is not in a hurry to walk down the aisle.”
Rohit and Shweta got engaged in June this year and confirming the same, a TOI report had stated, “The two have been together for four years now and got engaged last year. Both belong to the film fraternity and have collaborated on short films. Not many know that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was instrumental in getting the two together as both Shweta and Rohit are close to him.”
The elated Chandra Nandini fame, Shweta Basu Prasad too, opened up and was quoted as saying, “Yes, it is true.
