Legendary actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda hasn't followed in her parent's footsteps and owns her fashion line, MxS World, in collaboration with designer, Monisha Jaising. In her personal life, she and her estranged hubby, Nikhil Nanda are blessed with two kids, Navya and Agastya. Currently, as per reports, Shweta has parted ways with Nikhil and lives with her parents. Now, in a candid chat, she revealed a few anecdotes about raising her kids, and it was simply unmissable.
In an interview with Barkha Dutt, Shweta Bachchan was asked if she has been harsher on her daughter, Navya more than her son, Agastya. To this, she immediately agreed and mentioned the reason behind this. For the unversed, while Agastya is gearing up for his big acting debut, Navya keeps working for her social services. She also opened up about her kids' personalities and mentioned:
“I’ve been tougher on Navya, because I feel the world isn’t easy on women, and you have to be that much stronger, and that much more vigilant and careful. Not about deadlines or stuff like that. Also, their personalities are very different. I would like to think that Agastya’s an old soul. Navya is a little naive, and I’m a little more non-trusting of certain friends and relationships. I would be a little careful about (things), and talk to her about… Of course, she has the liberty to live her life the way she wants.”

Further, in the same conversation, Shweta opened up about the one time when she had a big argument with her daughter, Navya. Narrating the incident when Navya had asked her approval for a belly piercing, and even after her mommy vetoed it, she did. However, afterwards, the doting mother reacted strongly to it, and Navya had to remove that. Shweta shared:
“The only time we had a really big disagreement about something she wanted to do, and I really vetoed it in a really strong way was the belly piercing… She had it done, and I just removed it.”
At the end of the conversation, Shweta pointed out that her daughter, Navya is a lot like her mother, Jaya. Elaborating more on it, Shweta mentioned various common points between the grandmother-granddaughter duo and concluded:
“I think Navya has a lot of my mother in her. She has a lot of conviction, and it’s not easy to shake that. She’s passionate about a lot of causes, and is vocal about them. She’s comfortable about coming on stage and talking about things she believes in than someone like me; I’m very shy, and not good at all this.”

On February 12, 2023, Shweta and Navya were spotted at the designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla's annual fashion show for CPAA in aid of Cancer Patients. For the event, they wore custom outfits and looked simply graceful. While Shweta donned a pastel yellow-toned saree paired with a v-neck illusion blouse with sheer detailing. She accentuated her look with statement earrings. On the other hand, Navya opted for a pastel pink saree adorned with sequin work. Together, the mother-daughter duo was seen setting pure fashion goals at the event.
